Dear Parents,
I would like to introduce myself as your child’s Physical Education teacher for the 2024-25 school year. I look forward to meeting you and your son/daughter.
On the day that your child has P.E., your child needs to be proactive by wearing comfortable clothes and tennis shoes (no dresses, please). When the children wear their nice shoes and clothes to P.E. it restricts their ability to participate fully in our Physical Education program safely. Of course exceptions to the dress code will be made, such as picture day, doctor’s appointments, etc.
Grades will be assigned based on class participation, mastery of content, demonstrating tasks using proficient techniques, and task commitment.
In the area of discipline, I expect all students to be leaders and demonstrate the 7 Habits as well as follow specific classroom rules:
Strive for excellence by being a good listener and raising your hand before speaking.
Show respect by being polite, courteous, and helpful to others.
Show care and be careful by always moving under control and watching for others.
Use all equipment with care.
The following procedures will be taken if the rules are not followed:
Warning
Go to refocus area to fill out a refocus form
Contact parent
Student sent to principal
If your child is to be excused from P.E., he/she must bring a written excuse stating the reason for his/her inability to participate that day. If he/she has any medical conditions that affect their ability in P.E., please send me a note to that effect.
I am looking forward to a pleasant and productive year with your child. Your support will be appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s Physical Education program, please feel free to email, call, or send a note to me.
Sincerely,
Gina Hilts
