I grew up in Lexington-Richland School District 5 and graduated from Irmo High School. I earned both my bachelor's and master's degrees from the College of Charleston and taught in Charleston County for the first 8 years of my teaching career. I have been in District 5 since then.

I am married and have boy/girl twins who attend school in the district and a rowdy Goldendoodle named Charlie. I enjoy coffee, Diet Coke, the beach, the lake, reading and watching the Gamecocks play!
