All course information for students is provided through Google Classroom. Teachers will add students to their Google Classroom.
Parents/guardians cannot join Google Classrooms. However, they may receive daily or weekly summaries from Google Classroom. Contact any teacher to have your email enrolled for these summaries. For more information, see Google's Help article on Classroom Guardian Summaries.
Students are expected to have all materials and participate in each class. Since chorus is a performance based class, students will be graded on their participation and performance in chorus class and required events. Any student unable to participate for medical reasons will need to present a copy of a doctor’s excuse. Students are always expected to bring their music and follow along with instruction.
The breakdown of the quarterly grade is as follows:
Practice 50% - This will include daily participation grades and rehearsals
Major assessments 30% - This will include pre-assigned playing tests
Minor assessments 20% - This will include written tests and pop tests
Semester exams will also be given. The material included on the exam will be communicated to students well in advance.
Important Dates:
Monday, December 16 - Rehearsal 3:45 - 5:15
Tuesday, December 17 - Winter Concert - 7:00 in DFMS Cafeteria
*Failure to attend a required rehearsal for an event may prevent the student from participating in that event. This is at the discretion of the director.
Concert Attendance
Students are expected to attend the required concerts and events. Participation in concerts is included as part of the student’s chorus grade.
