Hi! I am Mrs. Backman, and I am SO EXCITED to be your 4th Grade teacher! This will be my 7th year teaching and my 6th year teaching 4th grade! I grew up in Atlanta, GA, and came to SC to attend the University of South Carolina- GO GAMECOCKS!- to receive my bachelor's and have since also received my Master's in Education. I have been at IES for all of my teaching career and have the honor of being the IES 26-27 Teacher of the Year!
When I am not at school, you can find me at Target, the gym with Mrs. Pate, or relaxing at home wth my husband, Thomas, and our cat, Mila. I love to travel and often visit my parents in Florida and my sister and brother-in-law in Philadelphia!
This is going to be a great year of learning, growing, and making memories together!
