PTO President
Dominica Gurley proudly serves as President of the Cayce Elementary PTO. She has been involved with the PTO for the past three years and has been a Griffin parent for five years. She is the proud parent of one child in 3rd grade.
Dominica's favorite thing about Cayce Elementary is the genuine love the staff has for both the students and one another. She believes a child's success is strengthened when parents, teachers, and the school work together, which is why she is passionate about serving on the PTO and helping build a strong, connected school community.
Her advice to Griffin families is to stay involved, stay positive, and communicate often throughout the school year.
Fun Fact: One of Dominica's favorite hobbies is singing with her gospel group!
Claressa Hinton Thompson is proud to serve as a member of the Cayce Elementary PTO. She has been part of the Cayce Elementary family for six years and is the proud mother of two children: Ceigan, who attends South Carolina State University, and 3-year-old Michael.
Claressa's favorite thing about Cayce Elementary is its amazing staff, whose dedication and care make the school a special place for students and families. She believes that when families and the school work together, everyone succeeds—because together, we win!
Her message to Griffin families is simple: You are loved, supported, and welcomed. She hopes every family feels at home as part of the Cayce community.

Tracey Calanog
PTO Vice-President
Tracey Calanog serves as Vice President of the Cayce Elementary PTO and dove straight-in when her family moved to SC at the beginning of last school year. As a Griffin parent, she believes every child benefits when schools and families work together to provide support, encouragement, and opportunities for success.
Tracey brings years of experience in nonprofit leadership and has a passion for connecting people, sharing the stories of organizations making a difference, and advocating for children and families. Her favorite thing about Cayce Elementary is the strong sense of community and the dedication of the staff who work every day to help students thrive.
She believes being part of the PTO is an opportunity to serve and ensure families have a voice in creating an exceptional school experience for all. Her advice to Griffin families is to get involved, build relationships, and remember that even small acts of support can make a big difference in a child's educational journey.
Fun Fact: Tracey loves all things FRIENDS (yes, the TV Show)! Tracey and her husband, Jason, were able to visit the Warner Bros Studio Lot where they filmed during their reign on network TV.
Carol Hyman serves as Secretary of the Cayce Elementary PTO and has been part of the Cayce Elementary family for four years. She is the proud parent of a child in 1st grade.
Carol's favorite thing about Cayce Elementary is the strong interaction and communication between the staff and families. She believes being part of the PTO is important because it brings together a community of people who are committed to making Cayce an even better place for students, staff, and parents.
Her advice to Griffin families is to "always ask questions, get involved in school activities, and take time to build relationships with your child's teachers and the administration." She believes that "when everyone is involved, the entire Griffin community grows stronger."

Carrie Houck
Teacher Liaison
Carrie Houck is a 2nd grade teacher beginning her second year at Cayce Elementary. She and her husband have three daughters—a 10-year-old and 8-year-old twins.
Carrie loves the warm, nurturing environment at Cayce, where staff members support one another and care deeply for every student. She joined the PTO because she believes strong partnerships between families, the school, and the community help students thrive. As a teacher, she enjoys helping build those connections while advocating for the needs of Cayce's students.
Her advice to Griffin families is to read with your child every day and make time for meaningful conversations away from technology. Those moments make a lasting impact on a child's growth and success.
Fun Fact: Carrie once met Taylor Swift while working at a perfume store during college—and even sold her a bottle of Burberry perfume!
