South Carolina Profile of a High School Graduate

The SC Department of Education (SDE) has created the profile of a student graduating from high school with a diploma to be career ready. In order to measure this data and show SC graduates are indeed ready to work the SDE pays for all graduates to complete the WIN Ready to Work. This aptitude test measures three areas -Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information and Locating Information - and an additional assessment measuring the awareness of Essential Soft Skills.

The SDE states the goal for SC high graduates is to achieve Silver level of achievement on the WIN. This means students will score a minimum score of 4 on all three aptitude areas - Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information and Locating Information. In addition, students will need to pass the Essential Soft Skills with a minimum score of 70 in order to achieve a Silver level certificate.
