About me
My name is Shannon Avery and I have been teaching in Lexington Richland School District 5 for 20 years. I currently am a Learning Strategies teacher at the Academy for Success and also serve as the Placement Chair.
I grew up in New York and attended Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York. Once I graduated I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and worked for a construction company until I moved to Columbia, South Carolina to pursue my love for teaching. I received my Master of Arts in Teaching at the University of South Carolina and have been teaching ever since!
I am the mother of two boys (one 19 years old and one 13 years old). I absolutely love being a mom.
