About Ms. Ashleigh Morse
About Ms. Ashleigh Morse
Hello parents and students! I am the full time general and choral music teacher at CES! Katelyn Selkinghaus will be the itinerant (3 days at Chapin Elementary and 2 days at Seven Oaks Elementary) music teacher and Christina Brown will be the 5th grade Strings teacher! If your child is scheduled to have Ms. Selkinghaus for Music, he/she will work with me for part of the year as well if involved in a grade level performance!
As a student, I attended Leaphart Elementary, Irmo Middle, Irmo High, and the University of South Carolina (2003 graduate) where I double majored in Piano Performance and Music Education! I am a piano accompanist and occasionally sit in with bands and other musical events (I play keys in a Doors tribute band)! :)

What's happening in Music?
What's happening in Music?
Throughout the year we focus on steady beat, rhythm, matching pitch, reading notes on the staff, tempo, singing and moving to music, music history, music styles, how music relates to everyday life, holiday and cultural music, and experimenting with various percussion instruments and one woodwind (recorders ~ early flutes in 4th grade and piano keyboards in 3rd grade). Some grade levels are involved in programs/performances!
