6th grade Learning Strategies Class:
This course will be a blend between serving as an academic support in the students’ content areas to assist them with their individualized educational plan (IEP) goals, with lessons and activities that focus on developing students’ social and organizational skills. All lessons and activities being delivered to the students will be modified and differentiated based on student needs in the IEP.
1. Effective Study Techniques
Students will learn how to organize their study time, use mnemonic devices, and employ active reading strategies to retain information better.
Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving
Interactive activities will enhance their ability to analyze problems, think critically, and apply solutions effectively.
Time Management
We teach practical strategies for managing homework, projects, and extracurricular activities, helping students balance their responsibilities.
Goal Setting and Self-Motivation
Students will set personal academic goals and develop strategies to stay motivated and achieve them.
Supportive Learning Environment: We create a nurturing atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing themselves, fostering a love for learning and personal growth.

For students to receive academic support based on their area(s) of service and that addresses their IEP goals.
