Enrichment class is not a free period. You will be expected to complete activities that correspond to a content grade.
If you are coming into my class with a failing grade from another math class, please email Mrs. Gibson @ jegibson@lexrich5.org. A recovery plan will be prepared to help the remainder of the year.
Class Overview
Next year, our 8th graders will be enrolling in Geometry as their freshman math class. The state math standards are evolving, and our district has developed a pacing guide to align with these changes. I will be following this guide closely while also addressing any gaps to ensure a smooth transition for our students.
Additionally, middle school itself is a significant transition period. It is essential for students to learn accountability in both their behaviors and academics during this time.

About me
Hello Everyone! I am entering my eleventh year of education at AFS and am proud to be a member of this wonderful district. Since moving to South Carolina in 2014, I have been fortunate to see my two daughters thrive in D5 schools. My eldest is now a freshman at Converse University, and is studying Elemetary Education with an Art focus. My youngest is a junior at Spring Hill High School. She is excelling as honors student in the Engineering Academy.
My passion lies in teaching math in a way that is accessible and engaging for all students. I strive to approach my teaching with empathy, understanding that every student has a unique background and learning style.
I am truly excited about the year ahead!
