Irmo High School Chapter of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA)
Jacket Dance Scholars is Irmo High School’s chapter of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA), recognizing students who demonstrate excellence and commitment in dance, academics, leadership, teamwork, and service. The program promotes lifelong learning in dance while encouraging a deeper understanding and appreciation of dance as an art form.
Membership is earned by invitation based on established eligibility requirements. Students must earn a minimum of 30 points through qualifying dance activities—including classes, rehearsals, performances, choreography, workshops, research, and community service—while maintaining a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA. Students must also demonstrate collaboration, motivation, leadership, and positive contributions to the dance community.
Induction into NHSDA is a lifetime recognition of achievement in dance. Eligible 11th- and 12th-grade Jacket Dance Scholars may also be considered for national recognition through the NHSDA Artistic Merit, Leadership and Academic Achievement Award.
