Welcome!

Hi! My name is Carolann Derrick, and I am beyond excited to be teaching fourth-grade Math and Science at Ballentine Elementary School!

I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Go Gamecocks!! As a proud graduate of Lexington-Richland School District Five, it is truly a dream come true to begin my teaching career in the same community that inspired my love for learning and sparked my passion for education.

I believe every child deserves to feel safe, loved, and capable of success. My goal is to create a classroom where students are challenged, celebrated, and excited to come to school each day! I also look forward to getting to know and working alongside each of your families! 

I am so grateful to be a part of the BES family, and I cannot wait for an amazing year filled with learning, laughter, growth, and unforgettable memories!
