Welcome!

Hi!  I’m Kim McClure, your child’s first grade teacher and your partner in his/her learning journey this year!  I have been teaching for 29 years, most of them in District 5, and many of them here at Ballentine.  I have a Bachelor's Degree and Master’s Degree (both in Early Childhood Education) from USC and a Master's Degree in Administration and Supervision from Anderson University.

My family and I love to spend time together.  We enjoy family movie nights, trips to the beach, and lazy days at the lake!  I share about my family's adventures with my students, so I’m sure you’ll hear about my children as if they are your children’s classmates!  Likewise, my family loves to hear about my “class family”, and come to care about them as much as I do during the year!

I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child!  I tell all my students I am their “school mom”... rest assured, I will work hard to keep them safe and teach them well.  Please know, I always have your child’s best interest at heart and I thank you for sharing him/her with me!
