Has fun with the language - Have fun with the language. Sing, use fun sayings, speak with your friends, play games, listen to Spanish music and watch Spanish programs on Youtube, etc. 

Tries to sound authentic - Try to imitate people who speak Spanish well. You don’t have to have a perfect accent, but try to be as authentic as possible.

Uses circumlocution - When you get stuck on a word, try describing it using other words and gestures. It will keep the conversation going. 

Does not worry about understanding every word - Try to understand the big picture rather than understanding every word. Use clues such as cognates and context to help you understand the gist of the topic. 

Does not give up - Try, try, and try again. The rewards and benefits will be amazing.
