Trip to Italy

During April vacation 2024 the Italian program offered a one-week trip to Toscany. 

The group of 21 (18 students and 3 chaperones) was based in the medieval city of Siena, famous for its Palio and visited Florence, San Gimignano and the countryside where we ate  a local agriturismo(farm to table cuisine)

The students attended an Italian language course at the Dante Alighieri Society in Siena focused on exploring the city (visiting the Duomo, Palazzo Pubblico, La via Francigena) and practicing their language skills in the local community.

They had the opportunity to attend a cooking class, a watercolor painting workshop with a local artist, and a wonderful evening in the Contrada della Torre.

As one of  the students said “I enjoyed practicing my Italian with the locals and learning the culture and reflecting on the world” this  was an intense experience of immersion in the Italian language and culture that will be offered again in the 2025-2026 school year .
