Welcome to 6th Grade Ancient Civilizations on Team Discoverer! This year, we will study the origins of human beings in Africa and some of the ancient and classical civilizations that flourished in the Mediterranean area and Asia. We'll explore early cultures and ideas that helped shape the world we live in today.  Throughout the year, students will use a variety of historical thinking skills and argumentative writing skills to demonstrate their understanding of the content.

Course Overview and Expectations Document

About me...
I grew up the youngest of four children in Melrose, and graduated from St. Micheal's college in Vermont. I earned my Masters degree in Secondary Education at Salem State University. This is my seventh year at Diamond, though I've been teaching for over 15 years in a variety of middle and high schools. I've taught both English and Social Studies, and I am very excited to be teaching Ancient Civilizations this year. When I'm not teaching, I am spending time with my family, playing or watching soccer, reading, or cooking.
