The Math Learning Center is located in Room 712 in the MATH building. Students are allowed to drop in for extra help during most free blocks and studies, to work with either peer tutors, myself (depending on availability/amount of students present), or another math teacher. The maximum number of students that are in the learning center during any given block is 8 students. There is always a teacher and up to 2-3 peer tutors available as well. Students can do homework and ask questions, get help studying and reviewing for assessments, etc.
During I block, students are also allowed to sign up for the learning center. There are 16 seats available (8 under Gable and 8 under Solomon) and many tutors present as well.
Students may also be referred by a classroom teacher for them to have the Learning Center built into their schedule in place of 1-2 study/free blocks. In this case, students will dedicate their time in the learning center specifically to math, working toward goals created by their classroom math teacher, and get direct help from myself or tutors. Every 6 weeks we check in with the student and classroom teacher to see if the student should stay in the learning center or if they are ready to exit.
