Grade 8

Our Grade 8 Curriculum is an integrated curriculum. Teachers use both the Connected Mathematics Project and Illustrative Math to support students in accessing the grade level curriculum standards. Use the links below to access these resources.

Connected Mathematics Project

Students can access an online textbook through the link provided above. You must be logged into your Lexington user account to access. Specific instructions for loading your grade level text can be found here.

Illustrative Mathematics

Open Up Resources is a company committed to providing free curriculum resources to all students in the K-12 education system. The site supports the free version of Illustrative Math and the link above will bring you to the Family Materials page for grade 6.

Access to Unit Resources

Use the links below to access resources for each unit within our Grade 8 Curriculum.

These resources are to support instruction and learning. It is not recommended that students move ahead in the curriculum, but rather access this page to visit material and supports to further your learning in the current unit in your mathematics class as recommended by your teacher.

In this unit, students work with number systems, and furthering their understanding of the relationship between numeric and algebraic expressions.

In this unit students will dive deeper into inverse operations and build their knowledge on solving multi-step equations and inequalities.

In this unit, students will be introduced to the concepts of relations and what characteristics make a relation a function.

This unit is foundational to student understanding of advanced mathematics as students begin to understand the concept of slope and look at linear relationships algebraically and graphically.

In this unit, students will explore how systems can be used to model real-world situations and how models with inequalities differ from systems of equations in terms of the solution set.

In this unit, students continue to work with transformations in the coordinate plane and learn about the Pythagorean Theorem.

In this unit, students will work with data and develop an understanding of how mathematical models can be used to describe data trends and predict future trends.

In this unit, students will explore how exponent laws are connected to scientific notation and also begin to work with integer exponents and exponential functions.

This unit focuses on exploring triangle congruence and is an introduction into high school geometry concepts.

All students have access to our math intervention resources that provide students with extra practice in pre-requisite skills and with grade level concepts.

Access this page for grade level Prodigy Math practice too!

All students can access extra math practice and challenge work for their grade level.

Ask your teacher about challenge work! We believe everyone can learn math to high levels and encourage students to challenge themselves!
