Sometimes teachers will encourage or direct students to use various Chrome "Extensions" or Google App "Add-Ons" to enhance the ability of their Chromebook or lexingtonma.org account.
An Extension "extends" the ability of the user of the Chrome browser. Common Extensions used in Lexington middle schools include Screencastify, The QR Code Reader and Read & Write. Some Extensions are already added to student's accounts. Others may need to be added.
An Add-On increases the functions of a Google tool (i.e. Docs, Sheets, Slides). These are often used by teachers, but may be suggested for student use.
Other times, teachers suggest changing some Chromebook settings to change the functions of the Chromebook
If you are directed to add an extension or delete and reinstall an extension or if you are asked to change setttings, such as your keyboard, and you need help, you can use the videos below.
