Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to The Maria Hastings Elementary School!  On behalf of the Hastings Community, I would like to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year.  Our goals are to partner with our families and become a community that expands beyond our school.  We believe that a strong community builds a whole child.  

Every child has the ability to become a Hastings Hero.  A Hastings hero is respectful, responsible, safe, and shows best effort across their community.  As I said, we are a community and our goal is to partner with all our families.  In this partnership we would like for you to help support and guide your children by ensuring they:

1) Attend school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experience

2) Complete all homework assignments given by teachers

3) Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills

4) Share school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life

5) Informs you if they need additional support in any area or subject

6) Build their own self confidence in themselves academically and internally

Please remember everyone learns and everyone belongs here at the Maria Hastings School.  Each and everyone one of your children are Hastings Heroes.  They are respectful, responsible, safe, and use their best effort.  I hope all of you have a wonderful day and I hope all of you have a wonderful year at Hastings!
