Diamond Mandarin 

你好 (nǐ hǎo) hello！

Welcome to the Diamond Mandarin program! My name is Julianne Black.  I will be your child's 6th and 7th grade Mandarin teacher.  My Chinese name is 朱丽 (Zhū Lì).  Students usually call me 朱老师 (Zhū Lǎoshī) meaning "Teacher Zhu".  Here's a little more about me...

I grew up in Boston and moved to China when I was 24. I lived there for 7 years. I have a Master's degree in China Studies from Valparaiso University and have done coursework at three universities in China. This is my 13th year at Diamond. I live with my husband, my 16-year-old daughter, one-year-old son, a cat and a dog. When I am not teaching, I enjoy taking walks, cooking, and curling up with a good book.
