Clarke Community Book Club

What is the Clarke Community Book Club?

The book club is a biannual opportunity for Clarke students, families, and staff to read and discuss a worthwhile book related to the core values of Lexington Public Schools. Each book is announced in an email sent to the entire Clarke community, on daily announcements at school, and here on this website.

The announcement is followed by a reading period appropriate to the length of the selection; during the reading period, this website will host a collection of reading materials, related media and news resources, and biographical information about the author. Additionally, these same materials will be sent directly to those who sign up for the Clarke Community Book Club newsletter.

This all culminates in an evening gathering where all readers come together at Clarke to discuss the selected book, connect it to our own lives (including our experiences at Clarke), and get to know each other a little better. The Clarke Community Book Club is directed and hosted by Principal Despres; please contact him with any questions and recommendations!

While participants are encouraged to obtain their own copies of each selection, the front office will have ten copies of each selection to loan out to readers. Visit the main office to borrow a copy while supplies last! Also, don't forget about Clarke's library and your local library!

Use the menu to the side to find out more about our book club selections, and to sign up for the current book club newsletter.
