Ms. Shelia Parkman is the Career Specialist at Swansea High School and has served in this capacity for eight years. Prior to working at the high school, she spent over 32 years working in corporate America, thus bringing much experience and many business contacts to the high school.

Ms. Parkman works with the graduation coach to ensure that students are career ready. Field Studies are important to introduce students to the many jobs in the area. She often plans these studies along with job shadowing opportunities. She works closely with businesses to secure employment for work-based learning opportunities. She serves all students by assisting them with resumes, job applications and cover letters. She administers career interest assessments and communicates the results with students. Often Ms. Parkman has professional guest speakers to come in during Tiger Time. She is also instrumental in planning the annual career fair. Students meet with her to secure part-time employment and is passionate about landing careers for students upon graduation.
