Black History Month

Black History Month, celebrated every February in the United States and Canada, is a time to honor and recognize the achievements, history, and contributions of Black individuals throughout history. It highlights the struggles for equality, the rich cultural heritage, and the profound impact that Black people have made in shaping society. The month serves as a reminder to reflect on the past, celebrate progress, and continue working toward racial justice and equality.

Why is the library important for high school students?

High school students are still kids and the library can be a very important place for them. Of course, they can check out books to read and reading can expand their ideas, their vocabulary, and can still help shape their minds in their teenage years. However, this is also a place where they can learn skills to help them in their lives after high school; research skills for college, research skills for everyday life, collaboration, and participating in regular every day conversations. Please encourage your student to visit the library today!
