A few TCC students from each of the five Lexington One high schools.
The College Center (TCC) will soon be accepting applications for the 2026-27 academic year. This early college program, in partnership with Midlands Technical College, offers motivated 8th-grade students the unique opportunity to earn a free associate degree while still in high school.
Students benefit from TCC's strong cohort model, with a maximum of 100 students per grade level, as they earn both high school and college credits. The program begins in 9th grade.
TCC utilizes the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) curriculum as the foundation of its cohort model.
"AVID Secondary is a comprehensive program for grades 6–12 that bridges the gap between students’ aspirations and their readiness for college and careers."
Admitted students from all five high schools in Lexington County School District One attend the full-day program (8:55 a.m. - 2:50 p.m.) located at the North Lake Community Learning Center.
It's important to note that you cannot attend The College Center and take classes at Lexington Technology Center (LTC) at the same time.
The mission of TCC is to create and sustain a culture that promotes a sense of belonging, collaboration, and academic excellence.
The vision of TCC is to see its graduates apply their learning to make a lasting generational impact in their families and communities.
