Coach Derek Belton, Airport HS
On October 10th, tragedy struck the Belton family when a fire destroyed their home. Thankfully, everyone is safe, but the damage has left them facing a long road to recovery. They now face the overwhelming challenges of securing a new home, replacing essential items, and restoring stability in their lives.
Coach Belton, a single father to two children—14-year-old daughter Bella and 13-year-old son Gabe and is an esteemed member of the Lexington Two School District community. He serves as a dedicated teacher at New Bridge Academy and coaches at Airport High School. With over 20 years of teaching and coaching experience in South Carolina, Coach Belton has been a cornerstone of our community, often offering support to students and families in need. He grew up in Elgin and is a proud graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High School.
The Belton family is unlikely to ask for help themselves, so we’re asking on their behalf. Any assistance you could provide in spreading the word would be greatly appreciated. Coach Belton has always been one of the first to step up when others are in need. His kindness, dedication, and selflessness have touched many lives, and he’s cherished by all who know him. Now, as he faces this difficult time, we hope to reciprocate his generosity.
One of our football families has set up a GoFundMe page to rally support for Coach Belton. We’d love to see the district and coaching community come together to support him, just as he has so often done for others.
Our goal is $7000 to help cover the cost of a security deposit and first month’s rent along with replacing the basic household items to get them started.

Coach Ben Hampton - Socastee HS
The Hampton family (Ben, Catherine, Atticus and Lily) is asking for your support for their son. Ben is currently the Head Football Coach at Socastee High School and Catherine is the Principal at Burgess Elementary School, both in Myrtle Beach, SC. Atticus and Lily are first graders at Burgess Elementary.
On Sunday, September 29, 2024 Atticus was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) and was airlifted from Myrtle Beach to MUSC in Charleston, SC. He has completed one round of chemotherapy and will need a bone marrow transplant in the coming weeks. The road for treatment and recovery is extensive (18 - 24 months) if all goes well. Prior to his diagnosis, Atticus was a fun-loving sports nut. He played every sport he could.
We are asking for your prayers and your support during this extremely difficult time. Please find it in your hearts to help us and share this post.

One of the main sponsors of this association over the years has been BSN Sports, especially with our North/South All Star Game. Bart Owens been at the helm for all of my recent memory and has led this tremendous backing of the SCFCA and the SCACA.
Today, Bart, his wife, his two young sons, ages 7 and 11, need to be added to your prayer list. Bart was admitted to the hospital in Lexington on Tuesday. He has learned that he has multiple tumors in his brain, as well as in his kidney, liver, lung, and heart. The doctors have told him it’s cancer. Bart is facing the fight of his life.
Thank you all for being a group that can rally for a greater cause and for lifting up those in need. As information becomes available on Bart's situation, or how you may help the family with his fight, we will get that to you. For now, he needs prayer!
