Helperbird's Immersive Reader for Google Docs and Slides is an add-on extension that changes text into a clean, customizable reading view that can speak words aloud, highlight sentences, and adjust spacing or fonts. It helps students in the classroom by removing distractions and letting them hear their document read aloud as they follow along, which boosts comprehension and makes Google Workspace tools far more accessible.
**Note that standard iPad Speak Selection does not work inside Google Docs or Google Slides via Safari, which is why Helperbird is essential for web-based reading support in those platforms.
