Lexington County School District One is proud to offer a wide range of benefits to our full-time employees. These benefits range from medical insurance to retirement savings plans.
You can enroll in benefits within 31 days of the date you are hired.
Benefits go into effecton the first of the month if your date of hire is the first of the month. If your date of hire is the first working day of the month and it is not the first calendar day, you may choose to have your coverage start on the first day of that month.
on the first day of the next month if your start date is on a day other than the first calendar day or first working day of the month.
You can change your benefits
if you have a family status change such as loss or gain of coverage, birth, adoption, divorce or marriage. If one of the above situations occurs, you have 31 days to make the change.
during open enrollment in October.
Your benefits end
due to resignation/retirement, transfer, death or non-payment of premiums.
If you resign/retire, your benefits will end on the first day of the month following your last day worked.
If you are an academic transfer, your benefits will continue throughout the summer.
Benefits will continue until the day after death.
