Your school counselors are educators uniquely trained in child and adolescent development, learning strategies, self-management and social skills.
Some of the services we provide are:
- Classroom lessons: We see all students in classroom lessons. We work with students on topics such as test taking strategies, organization skills, teamwork and planning for life after high school.
- Small groups: We see some students in small groups of about 4-6 other students. We work on topics such as social strategies, self-esteem and transitioning to a new school.
- Individual Counseling Services: We see some students individually for support for adolescent issues. We may work on topics such as relational problems, academic concerns or relaxation strategies. This support typically lasts no more than five sessions.
We can also assist families with community agencies, parenting resources
and outside counseling providers.
