Hello, everyone!
My name is Ms. Ruiz, and I am thrilled to be a part of the Aviator family!
I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2023, followed by my Education Specialist Degree in Counselor Education in May 2025.
I am originally from Newberry but now live in Lexington with my fiancé, who happens to be my high school sweetheart. Together, we share our home with our playful goldendoodle, Ozzy. We love going on walks and enjoying the outdoors together.
I am looking forward to an amazing school year at Centerville Elementary and excited to be part of your child’s journey as their school counselor!

Welcome, Centerville families! I am delighted to be a part of the CES Counseling Crew.
A lifelong member of this community, I graduated from Gilbert High School, earned my Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature from the University of South Carolina, my Master's Degree in School Counseling from Liberty University, and I am currently a PhD Candidate in Social Psychology at Liberty University.
I have worked in publishing, commercial construction, taught English in middle school, and served as the Title I Family Liaison before becoming a school counselor. I use all of these experiences and education to help children and their families.
I love going on adventures with my family! My husband and I have a son in his second year at Mississippi State University and a daughter in 12th grade at Gilbert High School. There is never a dull moment in our house!

I am so excited to begin the 2025–2026 school year here at Centerville Elementary School!
I grew up in the Gilbert community and graduated from Gilbert High School. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Clemson University, then went on to complete two Master’s Degrees at Liberty University—one in School Counseling and the other in Interdisciplinary Studies (Education & Psychology). I am currently a PhD candidate in Psychology at Liberty University.
This will be my 7th year as a school counselor at CES, and I truly believe this will be the best year yet!
I’ve been married to my husband, Scott, for 10 years. We have two boys, Finn and Reid, and a little girl, Nora Jane. We love taking hikes, tubing down the river, and playing board games together!
I’m also a HUGE Clemson football fan—Go Tigers!
