This session provides a detailed overview of the Project SEARCH program and will allow time for questions from prospective applicants and parents.
Be at least 18 years old by June 30 of application year.
Have completed at least 4 years of high school
Be a student in LexRich5 with a disability on a non-diploma track
Agree that this will be the last year of educational services
Desire to work competitively in the community at the conclusion of the program
Have an active/open case with SC Vocational Rehabilitation
Demonstrate effective receptive and expressive communication
Must provide own transportation to and from Project SEARCH site
Maintain appropriate behavior and social skills in the workplace
Have independent personal hygiene, daily living, and grooming skills
Take direction/change behaviors based on feedback from supervisors
Have previous school-based jobs, volunteering, community training, and/or paid work experience
Have attended VR Work Training Center (strongly recommended)
Be eligible/Willing to apply for Dept. of Disabilities & Special Needs (DDSN) case
Be able to pass drug screen, background check
Have immunizations up to date, including additional vaccinations required by Prisma
Have health insurance from Medicaid or private insurance company
Family willing to participate in planning, goal-setting, general support of intern
