Cedar Key Aquaculture Association Supplemental Requirements

In addition to 300 work hours on an aquaculture farm and taking the Florida Aquaculture Association Industry Certification test, we require:

1 Safety Skills

  • Forklift Operator Course - CFCC
  • Boating Safety Course - USCG
  • CPR & First Aid - CKVFD
  • Safety in Chemical use/storage - MSD


2 Cedar Key

  • Shellfish in Cedar Key
  • List local occupations related to aquaculture


3 Water Quality

  • Local adverse challenges to water quality
  • Water sampling with DACS/NCBS


4 Regulations

  • Will be able to identify shellfish water boundaries
  • FDA role ISSC
  • DACS role
  • Public Health Implications


5 Associations

  • Participation in CKAA annual meeting
  • Junior Board Membership
  • Attend Workshop
