Welcome to the website of the Laboratory of Cognitive Sciences and Psycholinguistics at the Federal University of Ceará, Brazil. Here we investigate eye movements during reading texts in Brazilian Portuguese, in English and during reading subtitles for the deaf and hard-of-hearing adults. The laboratory is coordinated by Prof. Elisângela Teixeira and co-coordinated by Prof. Patrícia Vieira. In addition to studying eye movements during reading, we also investigate language processing in populations with special conditions, such as synesthesia and autism. In collaboration with several Brazilian and foreign researchers, the lab also investigates topics such as memory and language, emotions recognition, attention and visual search, among others.

The laboratory is affiliated with the Graduate Program in Linguistics.
