•Why did you make this website?
: This website was developed in hopes of helping people understand technology more easily, learn tricks used by experts, and teach people about the importance of digital design and art. While keeping it diverse and easy to understand.
For me, I'll take any chance to design, code, and advocate any time I get. In this case, I saw the opportunity to do it all at once. This website was made for the benefit of those who want to get a glimpse of not only the projects and lessons done in Colegio de San Juan de Letran but also teach those who want to work in the world of freelance, digital art world or maybe just wanna use the internet.
•What is your personal experience and take on network safety and netiquette
: As a person who practically lives on the internet my safety and image matters to me most especially as a streamer. As a minor as well having everyone know my personal details like my age, province, etc. can be very risky and unsafe. As for the netiquette, I am a socialite and a content creator. children watch my content and it is only right that I act responsibly and say the right things at the right time.
As an internet personality myself I know the ins and outs of the internet and content creation. Regardless, I know how important safety is especially on the internet, I have to watch out for doxing, copyright, and hackers whenever I am browsing the internet and/or when I produce content, etc. Having good discipline and being educated on how technology works really benefits me and protects my digital footprint and social image.
Tips and tricks on how to be safe while browsing the Internet and other online platforms:
Use a VPN ;
Change passwords frequently;
Think before you post! ;
Avoid sharing personal information;
look for the "s" in "https". "s" means secure for safe and stress-free browsing;
Avoid interacting with suspicious links/people to avoid phishing or other online scams.
•What are your top 3 choices for ICT content development and discussion
: Besides the 9 recommended online platforms in one of the pages, the main and most important platforms fall into 3 options only. Number 1 is definitely Canva, as a digital artist Canva has been a godsend to me. Helping with presentations, logo design, digital art, and many many more. Another platform is TikTok, TikTok has been the best way to not only endorse oneself but also we are able to learn important tips and tricks, comment and interact with people, etc. Lastly Reddit, I personally found my current job on Reddit as well as other freelance jobs I took over the summer break. Reddit is perfect for finding specific topics/communities and discussing them with your circle of choice.
•Digital divide and its application today
: As the youngest daughter and grandchild of the family I know how hard it is for my elders to understand the concept of the internet and technology. So there tends to be a "gap between information haves and have not" I don't the internet to be the reason why the elders are deprived of information limited to those who know how to use technology. So this website is designed to be easy to understand for the sake of the number of individuals unable to understand how it is used. Cathinko is made on Google Sites so not only the students of the Colegio can access it, but to anyone who wants to browse and use it.
II. Reflective Essay, “ICT as a Platform for Change”
Technology is definitely our inevitable future. With the development of Artificial Intelligence/ Consciousness our society in a few years will see brighter days. I would know firsthand since I am working alongside a few Filipino programmers who are developing a "droid" specially made for PWD, the elderly, and anyone in need of personal assistance in doing normal everyday duties. I cannot say much besides the fact that the internet and technology itself will definitely bring us change. We can already see changes as of the moment, though change may not always be good, change is inevitable.
To conclude this very short reflective essay, I can say that Change might be scary, and some may not adapt to what we call the future. I know that this generation and the coming generations will definitely be grade leaders, innovators, and hopefully programmers with nothing but good intentions for our society.
