Haven: Journey in the Library

SUNDAY, October 16, 2022 - Having access to a variety of information is what a library can offer to us. It is a place of ideas, wherein existing knowledge can be studied thoroughly and new knowledge can be gained while searching, browsing, and reading books. A library is a place of discovery where you can freely grab a book where you want your journey to begin. Here are some reasons why the Letran SHS Library is the place where you can be filled with wisdom and a collection of corners where you can unwind.

1. Radiates calming environment 

When you enter the Letran SHS Library, it will welcome you with a peaceful atmosphere. Having a librarian that will assist you if ever you need some help completes the experience. The whole place has tables and chairs where you can sit alone and focus on your exploration. But if you want to study with others, the library also offers long tables where you and your friends can do your activities together. Not only that, but the library also provides a resting corner wherein there are mats and pillows where you can sit comfortably and pause for a while. 

2. Provides computers and other learning tools

The SHS library has computers that you can use for browsing the internet. There are also learning tools and materials you can explore, such as the molecular model kit and some 3D organ models. Including the Eye anatomy 3D Model, which serves as an additional source of information and can be used as a visual aid in learning science-related subjects. 

3. Offers varieties of book sections

As you walk through the place, you will get excited as you will encounter many books from different eras and topics that will surely give you new ideas that can change your perspective.

You can refresh your knowledge and discover new ones when you go to subject references that consist of books such as Biology, Chemistry, Anthropology, Psychology, History of the World, and many more. There are also journals and magazines which could give you new information. While for those who are into reading novels, the Teenzone and the Book Lovers section will surely get your nose stuck in a book with its fictional characters and stories.

Libraries such as the Letran SHS Library are indeed a place of magic, having the world’s wisdom stored in it. Allowing us to connect from the past, explore the present, and discover what we can do in the future. More so, the library is also a safe and therapeutic place for some.
