SEPAG Meetings from 2022-2023

Meet the New Director.pdf

On 11/30/22 we met Jenna Russo, the new Director of Special Services.  Dozens of parents attended, representing their children from PK - 12 at each of our schools, from both Leonia and Edgewater School Communities.  Parents provided valuable feedback on the District's programs and services.  Laurie Molina discussed the importance of parents connecting with one another and sharing information and resources.  With more information, we are empowered to better support and advocate for our children with IEPs and 504 plans.

On 1/30/23, SEPAG met prior to a workshop on the topic of Adolescent Anxiety, presented by Vice Principal and Certified School Psychologist Anthony Servis.  The focus of the workshop was on how to facilitate resilience in our youth.

For the SEPAG meeting, we reviewed concerns about staff turnover and the importance of CST communication with parents.  We discussed the possibility of future SEPAG meetings sometimes being virtual, to see if that helps increase parent participation.  A topic of interest was Perform Care, Bergen's Promise, and Bergen Resource Net.  We are working on this topic for the next SEPAG meeting.
