Online registration for Original Work/Advancement for Credit

Deadline is June 27th

• All advancement courses in Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II must be taken through the Leonia SMILE program. Credit will not be awarded for courses taken offsite. Contact Mr. Lee, Mathematics Supervisor at jin.lee@leoniaschools.org  or 201-302-5200 ext. 5205.

• Any summer school courses requiring a midterm must be taken on July 17th at 8:30 AM. All midterms must be taken in person at Leonia High School.

• All finals will be given on July 31, 2024 at 8:30 AM. All finals must be taken in person at Leonia High School

• Review and sign the online course contract. 

2024 Online Summer School Original/Advancement for Credit Contract

ALL STUDENTS MUST BE REGISTERED NO LATER THAN JUNE 28th FOR ALL SUMMER SCHOOL COURSES. NO EXCEPTIONS.

To register for online courses:

1. 1. Log on to Educere’s website at www.educere.net 

1. 2. Enter the course code and add the course to your cart.  

1. 3. Once the course is in your cart you press “checkout”  

1. 4. The Leonia High School code is G3SI4ZRI

1. 5. Please select your counselor as the primary contact (i.e. Ms. Wong, Ms. Wilson, Mrs. Clair, Ms. DeLorenzo  or Ms. Stein)

1. 6. Please fill out all necessary information and the complete the purchase of the course.  

1. 7. You are registering for a “Year-Long, Semester, Original Credit” course and are registering for a full year (both A and B if applicable).   

1. 8. All courses are self-paced; however, you should complete and properly submit all tests, quizzes, papers, and assignments by July 30, 2024 to ensure your final exam can be unlocked on July 31, 2024 at 8:30 am. 

      1. There are no exceptions to this deadline.   

      2. There are no extensions.  

      3. For students eligible for extended time in their 504 plan or IEP:  These courses are self-paced, so there is no limit on the amount of time a student can spend on each lesson or test. Therefore, extended time is included in the design of the course and there is no separate, additional provision for extended time. 

1. 9. Students are required to sit for BOTH the midterm and final exams at Leonia High School. Midterms will be given Wednesday, July 17th at 8:30 am. Final exams will be given on July 31, 2024 at 8:30 am. All necessary coursework needs to be submitted prior to sitting for the midterm and/or final.  Please refer to your course syllabus or virtual instructor for guidelines. There is only ONE attempt on all midterms and finals.

1. 10. On Wednesdays, beginning on July 3rd, there will be a counselor available to help with issues related to summer courses from 9am until 2pm and for students to schedule exams if they wish to complete coursework prior to the deadlines.

1. 11. Carefully read all the instructions for your course.  You are responsible for properly submitting all your work in the correct format.  If your work is not submitted properly it will not be graded and you will fail the course.  Do not let this happen to you!  Coursework must be completed by August 2nd.  All final exams will be taken on July 31th.

1. 12. All necessary coursework must be completed before students can sit for exams.  Please ensure that 100% of the coursework (including essays and written assignments) is complete prior to the midterm and final exam date.

1. 13. Students must take their midterm on July 17th at 8:30am and the final exam on July 31st at 8:30 am..  Failure to take the midterm and/or final exam on the above dates will result in a failing grade for the course.  

1. 14.  In order for students to show mastery of the subject matter, students must earn a final overall grade of at least an 85 AND a minimum of an 85 on the proctored final exam in order to advance to the next course level. 1. 15. Students must pass the final exam to receive credit for the course. 

1. 16. Please call Educere directly with any questions about the course, content, assignments, and/or technical issues at (866) 4EDUCERE.  Educere is not authorized to grant extensions.  

1. 17. I have read and understand the rules, deadlines, and expectations for taking online course(s) for credit.  I understand that the grade that I receive is dependent upon my effort and academic performance in all online courses.  I am responsible for familiarizing myself with all directions and meeting course deadlines.  Failure to complete all coursework AND failure to take the final exam on August 3rd at 8:30 am will result in a failing grade regardless of the course average.  Extensions will not be granted.
