Year 2 - Gnome Alone
We will be holding two Year 2 Gnome Alone Performances, on Monday 1st December 2025 at 2 pm and Tuesday 2nd December at 9:30 am with a maximum of 2 tickets per household.
We ask that parents/carers arrive promptly to prevent disruption to the children’s performance. Due to the nature of the performance, preschool children (including Nursery age) and babies may not accompany you to the performance. We therefore ask that you make alternative arrangements for these younger siblings, as unfortunately you will not be able to attend the performance should you bring them.
When photographing your children in school performances, events and productions, please use small cameras only to ensure that you are not interfering with the view of other parents.
Also, when posting photographs of school events on social media e.g. Facebook, please ensure that you are only posting pictures of your child. Parental consent has not been obtained for you to include photographs of other children who may be present in your pictures.
Contribution Boxes
We would also like to take this opportunity to remind you about our ongoing fundraising efforts for the Paul Alan Project, a very worthy cause that is close to our school's heart.
Donation containers for the Paul Alan Project will be available in the hall at the Year 2 Winter production.
If you would like to contribute to this wonderful charity while you are with us, we kindly ask that you bring some money (cash only) for the collection boxes.
Your generosity, no matter how small, makes a real difference. Thank you in advance for your continued support of our school and this important project.
We are pleased to share that the Scholastic Travelling Book Fair is returning to Manor Park just in time for the festive period from Monday 1st December to Thursday 4th December. The fair will take place after school in the Studio. Signs will be up to help you locate the book fair.
When the Fair arrives, there will be a range of incredible books to browse and purchase, all whilst helping to earn free books for your school! Payments can be made by cash and/or card.

Nut and Seed Free
We want to remind all parents and guardians that our school is a Nut and Seed Free Environment. This is a crucial safety measure to protect pupils who suffer from severe allergies.
We kindly ask for your full cooperation in keeping all nuts and seeds out of school premises, including packed lunches, snacks, and ingredients used for baking/cooking.
This includes, but is not limited to:
All varieties of nuts (e.g., peanuts, almonds, walnuts, cashews, pistachios, etc.).
All seeds (e.g., sunflower, pumpkin, poppy, sesame seeds, etc.).
Pine kernels (also known as pine nuts).
Products containing nut/seed oils or traces (e.g., some types of granola bars, certain chocolates, and spreads like Nutella or tahini).
Please check all food labels carefully before sending items to school. If a product has a 'May contain nuts/seeds' warning, we ask that you do not send it in.
Your vigilance ensures that all our children can learn and play in a safe environment. Thank you for helping us protect our entire school community.
The Daily Mile - Santa Dash
The Daily Mile continues to provide a vital movement break, helping to boost our pupils' energy and focus throughout the school day. This year, we are adding a special festive twist!
On Friday December 5th, all pupils from Year 1 to Year 6 will be participating in a festive-themed Daily Mile Santa Dash during their usual school day slot.
To help us celebrate the season during this healthy run, pupils are invited to bring in and wear a small piece of festive cheer while they take part! They can choose to walk or jog for 15 minutes and can wear one of the following items:
A Santa Hat
Reindeer Ears/Antlers
A piece of tinsel
We look forward to seeing the school grounds filled with festive cheer as the pupils enjoy this active celebration!
Helsinki Comes to Manor Park!
This week at Manor Park, we had a brilliant visit from the principal of our international partner school, Anna-Mari Jaatinen.
This visit was a fantastic continuation of our international collaboration efforts. We engaged in great discussions with both pupils and staff about vital aspects of education, including learning methodologies, curriculum structure, and day-to-day school life. The time spent together was invaluable for deepening shared practice and strengthening our partnership with Helsinki. Events like these help us gain new perspectives and integrate the best educational approaches from around the world.
We look forward to continuing this fruitful partnership and sharing further updates on our joint initiatives!
KS2 Athletics Team Shines at Indoor Competition!
This afternoon, our dedicated Key Stage 2 Athletics team proudly represented the school at the SSPSutton Indoor Athletics Heat 2 competition.
The pupils demonstrated fantastic skill and teamwork across a range of exciting field and track events. From sprinting to jumping, every member of the team put in an incredible effort and showed brilliant sportsmanship.
A massive well done to all the pupils who took part and finished overall in the heat! Your hard work and dedication in practice certainly paid off.
We are so proud of your achievement!
Martial Arts Success in Year 6!
A huge congratulations to two of our amazing students for their fantastic achievements in Martial Arts!
Ibrahim in Year 6 has worked incredibly hard and earned his Junior Black Belt!
Zoeya in Year 4 has successfully achieved her Junior Blue Belt!
Well done to both Ibrahim and Zoeya—we are so proud of your dedication and commitment! Keep up the great work.
We are thrilled to announce that for the upcoming academic year, Manor Park Primary School will be officially supporting The Paul Alan Project as our dedicated school charity. This is a fantastic opportunity for our children to learn about community safety, emergency skills, and the importance of quick action in critical situations.
The Paul Alan Project is a volunteer-run charity with the vital mission of saving lives through emergency preparedness. They are dedicated to preventing cardiac arrest deaths in the UK by focusing on three core areas:
Free Lifesaving Training: They provide FREE basic life support training (including how to perform CPR and confidently use a defibrillator) to individuals and organisations in the community.
Defibrillator Provision: They raise funds to install Public Access Defibrillators (PADs) and Bleed Control Kits in communities, particularly in parks and residential areas where provision is often poor.
Awareness: They raise awareness of the signs of cardiac arrest and the difference a quick response can make.
Our 2025/2026 Fundraising Goal: £2,000 for Manor Park
This money will be used to purchase and install a 24/7 Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) and a Bleed Control Kit in Manor Park. This vital equipment will be accessible to our entire local community, serving as a critical resource in a medical emergency.
How Manor Park Will Get Involved
Throughout the year, we will be holding various exciting events and activities designed to promote awareness and raise money for The Paul Alan Project. Details of these events will be shared with you soon.
How You Can Help Now
We warmly invite our entire school community to support this life-saving cause supporting an upcoming events. If you would like to contribute immediately, you can make a donation via our dedicated charity page:

This Week in Nursery & Reception
Our Nursery pupils had a fantastic time hosting their Winter Express and Share session, welcoming parents into the classroom. Parents of our Nursery pupils were able to share in and celebrate the wonderful learning that has taken place this term.
It was a great opportunity for our youngest pupils to share their achievements and skills with their families and staff. The positive engagement from parents across the school was greatly appreciated.
In Reception, pupils focused on Physical Education this week, developing their balance and control. As part of these sessions, they successfully practised balancing a beanbag on various parts of their bodies.
This Week in Year 1!
Our Year 1 pupils became Number Bond to 10 wizards during their mathematics sessions, using technology with tens frames and counters to practice counting, finding partners, and achieving fluency.
In English, Year 1 pupils had an exciting lesson where they acted out the story ‘Supertato’. The pupils carefully considered how each character in the story would act and speak.
All Year 1 pupils enjoyed using stick puppets and role play to act out the exciting events from the 'Supertato' story. Through excellent teamwork and drama, pupils loved saving the vegetables from the Evil Pea.
This Week in Year 2!
This week, our pupils undertook an engaging Geography lesson, exploring the world by identifying the major continents and the countries located within them. They effectively utilised Google Earth as a tool to support and enhance their understanding of global geography.
In Science, pupils focused on classification, learning to group different types of plants based on their defence mechanisms.
During PSHE lessons, discussions centred on social inclusion, specifically what actions pupils should take if they observed a friend being excluded or left out.
Finally, our pupils continued dedicated rehearsal sessions for the upcoming festive performance, showing great enthusiasm and commitment. They expressed significant excitement about the opportunity to share their performance with their parents and carers at the end of term.
This Week in Year 3!
In Mathematics, Year 3 pupils successfully practised their reasoning skills when identifying and explaining multiples of 5, 10, or both, using key sentences to aid their understanding.
As part of Computing lessons, pupils had the opportunity to develop their digital skills by exploring fundamental coding concepts using the LEGO Computing resources. Much fun and excitement was had as they brought their models to life.
The English Writing unit focused on 'The Stone Age' and culminated in pupils writing a persuasive advertisement. This persuasive writing task required pupils to research and write about different aspects of Stone Age life.
This Week in Year 4!
In Science, Year 4 pupils participated in an engaging 'clap test' experiment to explore how sound changes with distance, demonstrating great predictive and observational skills. They successfully learned the principles of setting up and conducting a fair test during their 'Sound' unit.
Within English, pupils developed their descriptive writing skills by composing detailed character descriptions based on the Beowulf narrative.
During Mathematics, pupils focused revision took place across the school on times tables, specifically reinforcing multiplication and division facts for the 6 and 9 times tables.
This Week in Year 5!
As part of English Literacy, Year 5 pupils worked in pairs to collaboratively plan a story map for an adventure narrative, sharing effective ideas and developing dramatic stories.
In Science, pupils participated in a 'Now Press Play' experience, virtually travelling to Mars and applying their knowledge of gravity and its effect on astronauts in space.
During PSHE, the year group created a cultural jigsaw puzzle together, showcasing their ifferent backgrounds and demonstrating mutual respect for one another.
The activities promoted key skills, including effective planning, collaboration, and mutual respect.
This Week in Year 6!
Year 6 Art pupils explored various artists and their artwork, selecting their two favourite pieces and analysing their meaning through written responses.
As part of their English lessons this week, pupils' writing was enhanced by the use of OLEX AI, which provided pupils with detailed feedback on their descriptive stories and generated images for comparison to help them refine their writing.
In Science, pupils investigated the impact of both healthy and unhealthy foods on the circulatory system and our bodies. The Science topic also included examining food packaging and the colour-coded systems to help pupils make informed choices about their diet. These activities encouraged pupils to use critical thinking skills across different subjects.
