After School Clubs Donation
We pride ourselves on offering our children a varied and exciting range of activities on our before and after school clubs. The school clubs donation fund will allow us to provide additional activities across all year groups.
We have a voluntary school club fund donation of any amount. Parents can donate for the school club fund online via our Arbor payment system. Go to: Accounts - Club Donation - Top Up Account, or simply bring your cash donation to the school office in a named envelope.
We would like to thank you for your support.
Social Media Guidelines
Facebook, WhatsApp, X (formerly known as Twitter) etc. should not be used for any school related comments and the complaints and concerns procedures should be followed. If you wish to share, confidentially, parents who are using sites inappropriately, please let us know and we a will be happy to speak to them. All contact between staff and parents should be conducted with politeness whether this is in meetings or on social media. The following guidelines should be followed:
Parents should use social networking sites or messaging groups sites only as a forum to support one another and uphold the strong reputation of the school.
Parents should not post pictures of pupils, other than their own children, on social networking sites.
Parents should not post inappropriate comments about the school and its staff, parents or individual children on social networking sites or messaging groups.
Parents should share complaints or concerns through official school channels rather than posting them on social networking sites or messaging groups.
Many thanks for your continued support.
Please can we politely remind you of the importance of parking safely around the school entrances. Parking is strictly prohibited outside the school gates and our children's safety is compromised by anyone who stops on the zigzag lines or on the corner of Warwick and Greyhound Road. We also ask you to be considerate of our neighbours in surrounding roads and therefore not to park across driveways at drop off and pick up times. They, too, could be parents who need to collect children from school and would be unable to get their car off the drive. Thank you for your co-operation.
One of our very own amazing pupils, Oska from Year 1, recently played a special part in a project for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is a fantastic charity that works hard to support people living with cystic fibrosis and their families, as well as funding vital research. Oska was chosen to be involved in a special video project to help raise awareness and understanding about this important cause.
Her confidence shone through during the filming and shared her bright smile and positive energy with everyone involved.
We are so incredibly proud of Oska for using her time and talents to support such a worthy cause. It's wonderful to see our pupils making a real difference in the world.
Check the video from the Cystic Fibrosis Trust linked here!
Well done, Oska! You are a true star!
Year 5 embarked on their new learning topic with an engaging Greek Day this week. Our pupils participated in a delightful feast, where they sampled a variety of Greek foods and enthusiastically embraced the new flavours, with the yogurt and honey proving particularly popular. The children also took part in their very own mini Olympics, showcasing their talents in the javelin, shot put, and standing long jump. Their participation and enthusiasm were truly commendable. Well done to all of Year 5 for such a fantastic start to their new topic.
This week, our Year 1 pupils embarked on an engaging journey back in time to the Victorian era. They experienced a day in a traditional Victorian classroom, providing them with a fascinating insight into education during that period. The children had the opportunity to examine various historical artefacts, gaining an understanding of their purpose and significance. They also participated in activities such as copperplate handwriting and immersive Victorian classroom role play. It is safe to say that our Year 1 pupils gained a valuable appreciation for the differences between schooling then and now.
Year 4 pupils engaged in a series of stimulating activities this week, focusing on the practical application of mechanical principles. Across four distinct tasks, the children successfully constructed various mechanisms. These included levers, wheels, and pulleys, all fashioned from readily available classroom materials. This hands-on experience allowed pupils to explore fundamental concepts in a tangible and engaging manner, as well as develop collaboration and problem-solving skills.
Our Reception classes embarked on an exciting exploration of the 'Creep and Crawl' topic this week, with a particular focus on spiders. The pupils enthusiastically engaged in a variety of activities to deepen their understanding. They creatively produced their own spider pictures, practised their observational skills by catching flies, and developed their counting abilities by enumerating spider legs. Furthermore, the children expressed their artistic talents through painting spiders and honed their fine motor skills by constructing their own using play dough. It was a week filled with discovery and hands-on learning.
The vibrant energy of Year 6 pupils was evident this week as they embarked on their new topic, ‘Britain at War’. Their initial engagement involved the creation of striking Blitz artwork. Through bold colours and dynamic compositions, the pupils successfully captured both the chaos and the remarkable courage that defined this period in British history. The resulting pieces serve as a powerful visual introduction to their studies. We commend their thoughtful and creative approach to this significant historical event and look forward to sharing future learning based on their new topic.
This week, our Key Stage 2 cricket team demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork during the 'Geoff Richard’s' Group stage games. Their dedication resulted in victories in both matches played. Consequently, the team has successfully qualified for the next round of the competition. We extend our sincere congratulations to all the pupils involved for their commendable performance.
This week, our Year 5 and 6 pupils represented the school with a commendable spirit at the LEO sports Basketball competition. The children demonstrated excellent teamwork throughout the event, securing victory in five matches and experiencing a single defeat. Their efforts resulted in a commendable second-place finish. We extend our sincere congratulations to all the pupils who participated.
