School Notices and Reminders
Year 6 mock SAT's will be taking place throughout next week.
Please remind them of the following pointers to help them through next week….
Get a good night’s sleep.
Make sure you arrive in school on time.
Remember to bring a water bottle into school.
Bring a piece of fruit for a mid-morning healthy snack.
Above all, relax, don’t worry and do your best.
Express and Share Assembly for Nursery
Over the second part of the Autumn term the children will be learning lots about Winter and festivity. We would like to invite parents into school to come and complete some learning and activities focused around Winter themes to allow children to share with their parent/carer their learning in school.
Nursery will be set up with fun activities that your child can share and complete with you. They can show you their daily learning in school and demonstrate the skills that they have been learning and developing as well as get excited in immersing themselves in the Winter festivities. Each class will be allocated one 30 minute session for 1 parent only per child. Due to the nature of moving and allowing space for children to explore activities, and share with their parents, this is limited to one parent only per child on their class’s day.
Nursery Blue Moon - Thursday 27th November 2025 at 9:00 am
Nursery Gems - Friday 28th November 2025 at 9:00 am
Nursery Jewels - Friday 28th November 2025 at 2:30
We ask that parents/carers arrive promptly via the Myrtle Road gate near the Nusery. Due to the nature of the activities and learning (including Nursery age) babies may not accompany you for the Winter share as this is an opportunity for your child to share their learning with the adults. We therefore ask that you make alternative arrangements for these younger siblings, as unfortunately you will not be able to attend should you bring them. Please enter and exit via the Myrtle Road gate.
Can we please remind all parents that school workshops and trips rely on the contributions of parents in order for the trips/workshops to go ahead and unfortunately these may be cancelled if we do not receive payments. If you are having any difficulties making the payments, please contact the school office to discuss this further.
Thank you so much for your support.
Parking Safely Around the School Entrances
Parking is strictly prohibited outside the school gates.
Our children's safety is at risk by anyone who stops on the zigzag lines or on the corner of Warwick and Greyhound Road.
Furthermore, we ask that you do not park in residents' bays or park across driveways. These are clearly marked and reserved for local residents.
Finally, we kindly request that you do not leave your engine running while waiting.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Christmas & Festive Lunch for All!
Christmas and the Festive Period is fast approaching and to celebrate, the children are invited to celebrate our Festive Lunch on Wednesday 10th December 2025, in the school hall. The deadline to complete the Google form is by 4.00 pm on Friday 28th November 2025, in order to give our LEO Catering Team enough time to order the food in advance. Please note that there will be no other school dinner options available on the day. For Years 5/6, there will be no 'Grab and Go' options available on the day.
Should you have any queries, please contact Miss Tok in the School Office, on 020 8642 0144, who will be more than happy to help you.
As the Christmas holidays approach, can we please remind you that family holidays must be taken during school holidays only and should not be extended either side of the school holiday dates. Any time taken off to extend holidays will be unauthorised and a fixed penalty notice may be applied. Thank you for your co-operation in ensuring that your child attends school every day, enabling them to receive the best education we can provide.
Also, in accordance with the school’s Attendance Policy, requests for leave for an emergency or exceptional circumstance should be made one month prior to the dates required, whenever possible (We understand that this is not always possible in the case of an emergency). Additionally, we also require a copy of flight details to support the request if travel abroad is required. Thank you.
Please try to make dental and GP appointments after school wherever possible to minimise gaps in your child's learning.
We require a copy of letters for hospital appointments, visits to embassies or passport offices and high school entrance exams to enable us to authorise these appointments . We can copy the original documents, if necessary.
Also, if you have a personal appointment please could you make the necessary arrangements to ensure that this does not impact your child's attendance and school time.
We are thrilled to announce that for the upcoming academic year, Manor Park Primary School will be officially supporting The Paul Alan Project as our dedicated school charity. This is a fantastic opportunity for our children to learn about community safety, emergency skills, and the importance of quick action in critical situations.
The Paul Alan Project is a volunteer-run charity with the vital mission of saving lives through emergency preparedness. They are dedicated to preventing cardiac arrest deaths in the UK by focusing on three core areas:
Free Lifesaving Training: They provide FREE basic life support training (including how to perform CPR and confidently use a defibrillator) to individuals and organisations in the community.
Defibrillator Provision: They raise funds to install Public Access Defibrillators (PADs) and Bleed Control Kits in communities, particularly in parks and residential areas where provision is often poor.
Awareness: They raise awareness of the signs of cardiac arrest and the difference a quick response can make.
Our 2025/2026 Fundraising Goal: £2,000 for Manor Park
This money will be used to purchase and install a 24/7 Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) and a Bleed Control Kit in Manor Park. This vital equipment will be accessible to our entire local community, serving as a critical resource in a medical emergency.
How Manor Park Will Get Involved
Throughout the year, we will be holding various exciting events and activities designed to promote awareness and raise money for The Paul Alan Project. Details of these events will be shared with you soon.
How You Can Help Now
We warmly invite our entire school community to support this life-saving cause supporting an upcoming events. If you would like to contribute immediately, you can make a donation via our dedicated charity page:

This Week in Nursery & Reception
Nursery pupils engaged in imaginative play, creating their own "magic potions" as part of their literacy work exploring the story 'Room on the Broom'.
Using a range of containers, pupils explored mixing and measuring amounts of liquids.
Reception pupils worked on counting and subtraction during their Maths lessons using hands-on resources.
Pupils used a number line to help count forwards and backwards.
This Week in Year 1!
During Interfaith Week, Year 1 pupils explored the concept of differences and how people may hold varying beliefs. They reflected on how these differences make each person special and contribute to a sense of belonging for all.
The pupils of Year 1 created informative road safety posters as part of Road Safety Week. They shared important tips to help everyone stay safe near roads. This activity in Personal, Social, and Health Education (PSHE) encouraged pupils to consider how to look after themselves and others in the community.
In Mathematics, Year 1 pupils used their knowledge of part-part-whole relationships to learn about Fact Families. The pupils wrote various number sentences demonstrating the mathematical relationships within the fact families. Each class utilised Chromebooks as a tool to explore and deepen their understanding of this mathematical concept.
This Week in Year 2!
In support of Interfaith Week and celebrating diversity, Year 2 participated in discussions about diversity and the importance of different beliefs, showing their creativity through colouring activities.
In Science, Year 2 pupils engaged in fascinating Science lessons exploring plant and animal adaptations. As part of their hands-on Science, activities included sorting plants based on protective features like spikes and poisons, and conducting an outdoor camouflaging exercise with moths. Pupils also focused on identifying unique plant features in their local environment to understand how living things thrive.
As part of their festive Art and Design, Year 2 pupils designed and created beautiful split pin Santas and Elves to decorate the school hall. This engaging Art and Design activity was accompanied by lots of Christmas music and creative cheer.
This Week in Year 3!
In Mathematics, Year 3 pupils successfully explored multiplication and division concepts, focusing on making equal groups and using concrete resources to practice sharing objects.
As part of understanding Road Safety, pupils demonstrated their understanding of road safety by designing and creating informative posters promoting safe procedures when walking near roads.
In Science, Year 3 investigated the function of joints through an engaging experiment using straws and string. The Science experiment helped pupils understand that joints, like the cut straw, allow for bending and movement. Key types of joints, including hinge, pivot, and ball and socket joints, were successfully identified and discussed by the pupils.
Pupils worked hard and showed excellent engagement across all subjects this week.
This Week in Year 4!
Year 4 pupils explored the concept of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their Computing lesson, leading to fascinating discussions about technology, including whether devices like Alexa can have feelings.
In their Science lesson, Year 4 pupils investigated the properties of sound, focusing on how different materials can be used to muffle sound.

Year 4's activities this week promoted learning across several subjects, including Computing, Science, Religious Education, and Physical Education.
This Week in Year 5!
Year 5 enjoyed a wonderful session at Forest School, where pupils learned about extracting natural dyes from leaves and petals using a hammering technique.
In Geography, Year 5 focused on developing their map reading skills, specifically practicing with scales, measuring distances, and understanding direction.
To help decorate the school ready for the festive season, pupils were busy creating 3D snowflakes as a fun, practical activity.
All classes continued to engage in excellent reading, writing, and mathematics activities throughout the week, showing great progress.
This Week in Year 6!
As part of their English and Drama lesson this week, pupils excelled in a hot-seating activity related to our class text, Freedom. They took on the roles of a plantation owner and an enslaved man, using drama and thought-provoking questions to explore complex historical perspectives.
In Design and Technology, Year 6 demonstrated fantastic creativity and sewing skills while designing and constructing festive puppets.
During PSHE, pupils had a valuable session with GC Learning, focusing on important strategies for keeping themselves safe as they prepare to move on to secondary school.
Finally, a huge congrations to two of our Year 6 pupils this week for demonstrating wonderful success in their learning. Firstly, we celebrated the fantastic achievement of Ibrahim from Sapphire Class, who successfully completed his 200-metre swim. Secondly, a huge congratulations to Arjun, also in Sapphire Class, for his remarkable dedication in memorising Pi to an impressive 110 decimal places.
