Parent/Teacher Meetings - Thanks!
This week, our Parent-Teacher Meetings for Nursery to Year 6 were held, providing a valuable opportunity for parents and carers to discuss their child's progress with their teachers. We would like to thank everyone who attended and participated in these important conversations.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to our dedicated Year 6 helpers: Ava, Summer, Clark, Ehaan, Salvador and Gemma. Their assistance in showing parents and carers to their appointments was invaluable. Their politeness, helpfulness, and exemplary behaviour were a credit to our school. Well done!

On Monday 11th November, Manor Park Primary School marked Remembrance Day with a series of class-based assemblies and activities to honour those who have served our country. Each class dedicated their assembly time to discussing the significance of Remembrance Day, with pupils engaging in thoughtful discussions about the importance of peace and the value of remembering those who fought for our freedom.
Throughout the day, children across the school created a variety of poignant artwork to commemorate the occasion, including Reception class, who produced beautiful poppy prints. At 11 am, the whole school community gathered respectfully for a two-minute silence. This shared moment of reflection provided a powerful reminder of the solemn reason for Remembrance Day and allowed pupils and staff to pay their respects in unity.
This year's Anti-Bullying Week was met with enthusiasm and a strong commitment to promoting kindness and respect throughout our school community. We commenced the week with a powerful whole-school assembly that explored the importance of empathy, inclusivity, and standing up for others.
Throughout the week, classrooms buzzed with activity as pupils engaged in a variety of Anti-Bullying Week initiatives. Thought-provoking discussions allowed pupils to explore the different forms bullying can take and its impact on individuals as well as designing eye-catching posters with powerful anti-bullying messages that were proudly displayed throughout the school. We are incredibly proud of the positive energy and commitment demonstrated by our entire school community during Anti-Bullying Week.
Year 1 had a wonderful time learning about the history of toys in a special workshop today. All three classes, Amethyst, Amber, and Agate, explored how toys have changed over time, with a particular focus on dolls, teddy bears, and games of skill.
The 'Toys of the Past' workshop provided a valuable opportunity for the children to develop their understanding of history and how life has changed over time. It also encouraged them to think critically about the toys they play with today and appreciate the ingenuity and craftsmanship of toys from the past.
Well done Year 1 and we look forward to learning more about our toys in future lessons!
This week, Reception has been creating their very own 'Pop Up Puppets'.
Each class designed and created their own puppets, using a variety of materials to decorate them. The children learned valuable sewing techniques and developed their fine motor skills throughout the process. Once the puppets were complete, the children enjoyed putting on puppet shows for their classmates, retelling familiar stories and creating original narratives. It was wonderful to see such creativity and imagination on display! Well done to all of the children for their enthusiastic participation and for producing such fantastic puppets!
Year 6 pupils have been busy expanding their digital literacy and coding skills this term through the exciting introduction of LEGO Spike kits to our classrooms.
These innovative kits have provided a stimulating platform for pupils to engage with technology and develop crucial problem-solving abilities. By constructing and programming a variety of robotic models, pupils have gained practical experience in applying coding concepts, developing their creativity and collaboration skills in the process.
We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm and ingenuity displayed by our Year 6 pupils and look forward to witnessing their continued growth in this exciting field.
This week, several Year 3 children had a wonderful time participating in the Sutton Sports Partnership (SSP) Year 3/4 Tag-Rugby festival. The children were expertly guided through skills and drills by sports leaders, learning the fundamentals of tag rugby and the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. All children represented the school superbly, demonstrating great enthusiasm and determination throughout the festival.
A huge thank you to SSP Sutton and the sports leaders from LEO Sports for organising such an enjoyable and enriching event. We are incredibly proud of all the children who took part and their exemplary behaviour. Well done everyone!
