Manor Park Primary Academy School has a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. This responsibility necessitates a child protection policy and procedures which are available to view on the website, or a copy can be requested from the School Office. Our designated Child Protection Officers are Ms. Thomas and Ms. Laing. Information may need to be shared with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. LEO Academy Parent Experience Survey
At Manor Park Primary Academy, we deeply value our partnership with you in providing the best possible education for your children. We are committed to continuous improvement and your insights are crucial to our growth.
We are excited to launch our annual Parent Survey, designed to gather your valuable feedback on various aspects of our school. Your positive experiences and suggestions will help us to celebrate our strengths and consider areas where we can further enhance our provision.
We encourage you to take a few moments to complete the survey, which can be accessed here.
Surveys are completely anonymous and confidential, though the responses will be aggregated for the purpose of analysis. Please note that the survey needs to be completed in one sitting. The survey will be available until Friday 28th March and should take no more than 15 minutes to complete.
Thank you for your ongoing support and for working with us to create a thriving learning environment for all of our students.
Book Fair Triumph! A Huge Thank You!
We are delighted to share the fantastic news that our recent Scholastic Book Fair raised a phenomenal £1473.13! This incredible achievement is a testament to the enthusiasm and generosity of our school community. As part of this, the school will receive a considerable commission, which will be used to purchase a wonderful array of new books for our school and class library. This significant addition will greatly enrich our students' reading experience and provide them with even more opportunities to discover the joy of reading.
Your contributions directly benefit our children and help foster a love of reading within our school. Thank you once again for your wonderful and support.
World Down Syndrome Day - Friday 21st March
On Friday 21st March, children can come to school wearing their most colourful, crazy mismatched socks as part of World Down Syndrome day. The 'Lots of Socks' campaign exists to raise awareness about Down Syndrome, with the purpose to help raise awareness and help start a positive conversation. We will also be holding a special assembly and hosting a range of class-based activities for pupils to participate and learn more.
We look forward to sharing with you photos from the day in next week's edition of the newsletter.
Year 2 Express and Share Assemblies - 20/03/2025
Year 2 will be holding their Express and Share assemblies at 9:10 am and at 2:00 pm on Thursday 20th March. Following these assemblies/performances, you will then be invited back to the classrooms to support the children with their learning based on their current topic. Siblings are welcome to attend the assembly but unfortunately will not be able to go into the classrooms due to the lack of space.
As with all of our assemblies and performances, we politely ask parents/carers arrive promptly to prevent disruption to the children’s presentation. When photographing your children in school performances, events and productions, please use small cameras only to ensure that you are not interfering with the view of other parents. Also, when posting photographs of school events on social media e.g. Facebook, please ensure that you are only posting pictures of your child. Parental consent has not been obtained for you to include photographs of other children who may be present in your pictures.
Year 6 Mock SAT's
This week, Year 6 pupils recently completed their Mock SATS, in order to help better prepare them ahead of their end of year assessments in May. The pupils approached the tests with a fantastic attitude, demonstrating their dedication and hard work throughout their revision.
We are incredibly proud of their efforts and their commitment to their learning. Their perseverance and positive spirit are a true testament to their character, and we are confident that they will excel in their upcoming SATS.
Child Exploitation Awareness Week
This week, we're focusing on an incredibly important topic: Child Exploitation Awareness Week. It's a time for us all to come together and learn how to protect our children from harm. We believe that every child deserves a safe and happy childhood, and that starts with understanding how to recognise and prevent exploitation.
Child exploitation can take many forms, including online abuse, sexual exploitation, and criminal exploitation. It's crucial for us, as parents, carers, and educators, to be aware of the signs and know where to turn for help.

School Attendance
Manor Park Primary Academy strongly believes that good attendance will ensure that a child can take full advantage of what school has to offer and will gain the educational and social skills necessary for life. The expected level of attendance is 96% and above and awards are given out termly to every child in Reception to Year 6 who achieve a level of 98% or more during that term.
If a child’s attendance falls below the threshold of 90% (a level set by the Government and meaning that they have missed 38 sessions or 19 days of learning) they are monitored by the school and Borough School Attendance Services. Medical evidence may be required to support further absence and failure to comply may result in a fixed penalty notice being imposed. The Principal is unable to consider any request for leave for an emergency or exceptional circumstance if a child’s attendance is below that level. A child who misses 19 days (38 sessions) or more during an academic year will be classed as a persistently absent pupil and, over a five year period, a child whose attendance level is 90% or below would have missed half a year’s learning which will impact immensely on their education.
The Principal will not authorise time off for family holidays as these should be taken during the school holidays. Any application for leave for an emergency or an exceptional circumstance should be made in writing either via a letter addressed to the Principal or email to the school office as soon as possible before the leave requested dates. You may also discuss your request with Ms Oliveira in the school office.
Science Week at Manor Park
This week, pupils from across the school celebrated a highly successful Science Week, with all year groups taking part in a range of exciting activities. Year 1 demonstrated exceptional enthusiasm, composing letters to NASA inspired by ‘Look Up!’ and exploring the phenomena of meteor showers, alongside creating colourful chemical concoctions. Year 2 conducted a rigorous investigation into material strength, comparing the durability of various bags. Year 3 focused on the critical issue of climate change, designing innovative solutions to support polar bear habitats. Finally, Year 5 and 6 showcased their creativity and problem-solving skills, developing futuristic and eco-friendly inventions centered on the theme of ‘Change and Adapt,’ with a particular focus on addressing climate change. The week's activities have fostered a spirit of scientific inquiry and innovation throughout the school.
Year 3 & Year 4 SSP Racket Pack Festival
This week, a select group of pupils from Years 3 and 4 represented the school at the Sutton Sports Partnership's Racket Pack Festival. The children participated in a series of skill-based stations designed to enhance their proficiency in badminton.
We commend all participating pupils for their diligent efforts and positive engagement throughout the event.
Creative PE at Manor Park
This week, Year 3 participated in a dynamic real dance lesson, focusing on partner shapes and movements. The pupils demonstrated exceptional creativity and coordination, developing intricate synchronised routines. Furthermore, their application of social cognitive skills was commendable, as they actively praised and encouraged their peers throughout the session.
This activity provided a valuable opportunity for pupils to develop both physical and interpersonal skills within a structured and collaborative environment.
