Healthy Fruit & Veg Snack at Break Times Reminder
To ensure pupils have the energy they need to focus and learn throughout the morning, we kindly ask that all children bring a healthy snack for break time. This should ideally be a piece of fruit or vegetable, providing essential vitamins and minerals to fuel young minds. We kindly ask not to provide your child with any other snack-based item, for example snack bars, yogurt pouches, puffed wheat cakes or crisps. Please be aware that, due to allergies, we are a nut-free school. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping all pupils safe and well-nourished.
If your child is in Year 5 and going to PGL next term please make sure that payments are kept up to date via Arbor as the deadline is 30th June 2025.
Can we please remind all parents that all school trips rely on the contributions of parents in order for the trips and/or workshops to go ahead and unfortunately these may be cancelled if we do not receive payments. If you are having any difficulties making the payments, please contact the school office to discuss this further. Thank you so much for your support.
Year 4 High Ashurst Residential!
This week, our Year 4 pupils embarked on their highly anticipated residential trip to High Ashurst. The pupils had an exceptional time, immersing themselves in an unforgettable outdoor adventure. They experienced the unique thrill of camping in both comfortable log cabins and traditional teepees, developing a strong sense of camaraderie and independence.
Throughout their stay, the pupils relished the opportunity to explore the natural surroundings, engaging with the environment on an exciting scavenger hunt. A particular highlight for many was undoubtedly the challenging yet exhilarating high ropes course, which encouraged teamwork and resilience. A diverse range of other engaging activities kept the pupils entertained and active, ensuring there was something for everyone. From den building to orienteering, every activity was designed to enhance their learning and enjoyment.
The residential proved to be a resounding success, providing our pupils with a wealth of new experiences and memories. It was truly wonderful to witness their enthusiasm, curiosity, and boundless energy throughout the trip. The positive impact of this outdoor learning experience will undoubtedly be long-lasting. We are incredibly proud of how well all the pupils conducted themselves.
Year 6 Put 'Make Do and Mend' into Practice!
This week, our Year 6 pupils truly embodied the "make do and mend" ethos in their Design and Technology lessons. They demonstrated remarkable skill and creativity, impressing us all with their mastery of various stitching techniques. The pupils confidently applied the blanket, running, and whip stitch to their projects. It was inspiring to witness their dedication to developing practical skills that will undoubtedly contribute to a more sustainable future. Their work was a testament to their burgeoning talent and thoughtful approach to design. We are incredibly proud of their achievements.
Year 5's Week of Artistic Exploration!
Earlier this week, our Year 5 pupils embarked on a fascinating artistic journey, delving into the evocative world of Edvard Munch. The pupils meticulously explored his iconic artwork, engaging in thoughtful discussions about their preferences and the distinctive techniques he employed. This critical analysis laid the groundwork for a hands-on experience, as they then channelled their understanding into creating their own replicas of Munch's work. It was truly inspiring to witness the creativity and careful consideration with which each pupil approached this task, selecting their preferred medium to bring their interpretations to life. The resulting artwork showcased a diverse range of artistic expressions and a deep appreciation for Munch's unique style.
Regional Dodgeball Finals!
This week, our Reception pupils enjoyed a fascinating dress-up and role-play session as they explored olden time washing tools. Utilising the outside continuous provision, the children engaged in learning through play, discovering how laundry was managed in the past. This hands-on experience allowing pupils to immerse themselves in history within a fun and interactive environment. They particularly enjoyed investigating the various traditional tools in the garden, fostering a deeper understanding of daily life in previous eras.
Regional Dodgeball Finals!
This week, our exceptional Key Stage 2 dodgeball team participated in the highly anticipated South East regional 'England Dodge' finals. The pupils demonstrated outstanding skill and commendable sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Their performance was a testament to their dedication, showcasing fantastic teamwork and unwavering mutual support. Each member of the team contributed significantly to their collective effort, truly embodying the spirit of collaboration. Friends of Manor Park Summer Fair - Saturday 21st June
Volunteers Needed for Our Fantastic Summer Fair!
The summer term is in full swing, and we're all eagerly anticipating our annual Summer Fair on Saturday, June 21st! This much-loved event is always a highlight of our school year, bringing our community together for a day of fun, games, and celebration. More importantly, it's a vital fundraiser for our school, with all proceeds directly benefiting our children through new resources, enriching experiences, and enhancements to their learning environment.
To make the fair a resounding success, we rely heavily on the incredible support of our parents. Running the various exciting stalls – from tombolas to games and refreshments – is a collaborative effort between our dedicated FOMP (Friends of Manor Park Primary) committee, school staff, and, crucially, our parent volunteers. Your time and energy are truly invaluable in ensuring the smooth running of the day and maximizing the funds we can raise for the school.
We understand how busy everyone is, but please know that even an hour of your time can make a significant difference. If you are able to spare some time to help run a stall, assist with setting up, or lend a hand with packing away, we would be incredibly grateful. Your child's class will be setting up, decorating, and championing a specific stall, so please let us know if you would like to support a particular one.
To sign up or if you have any questions, please contact Naz, our wonderful FOMP Chair. You can reach her via email at ptafriendsofmanorpark@gmail.com or by mobile on 07951871481.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support in making this year's Summer Fair a fantastic and fruitful day for our children.
