School Notices and Reminders
Cancellation of After-School Clubs
Please be advised that all after-school clubs and Booster Clubs for Year 6 on Tuesday 9th December are cancelled due to the Carol Concert taking place after school.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We understand the importance of these clubs for our students and appreciate your understanding.
Our regular after-school clubs will resume on Wednesday, 10th December.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Carol Concert
This year's flood-lit carol concert will once again be held on the netball court and starts promptly at 4.45 pm on Tuesday 9th December. Year 3 and Year 5 children and the Choir Club children will remain after school on that day for a rehearsal. Parents and carers are welcome from 4.15 pm and hot chocolate will be served courtesy of FOMP.
Siblings are also welcome. We anticipate that the concert will finish at around 5.30pm.
All Clubs and Booster Classes will be cancelled for this afternoon.
Christmas Dinner will take place on Wednesday 10th December.
No payment is required for this lunch for children in Reception to Year 6.
You will need to provide your child/children with a packed lunch from home if you did not order a Christmas Lunch, as we are unable to increase numbers.
All the children, including those who are having a packed lunch, will receive a Christmas cracker.
A big thank you to F.O.M.P for supplying them again this year.
Updated School Food Policy for Allergy Safety
To ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils, particularly those with severe allergies and at risk of anaphylaxis, we have updated our school's Food Policy based on government and allergy guidance.
Your cooperation is vital. Please adhere strictly to the following rules for all food brought into the school:
No Nuts or Nut Products: This is a complete ban on all nuts, including peanuts, tree nuts (almonds, cashews, etc.), all nut butters (like peanut or almond butter), and chocolate spreads or snacks containing nuts (e.g., Nutella, nut-containing cakes/biscuits).
No Sesame or Visible Seeds: Please do not send food items containing sesame seeds or any products with visible seeds in packed lunches, as sesame is a major allergen.
No Pesto of Any Kind: Pesto (including basil or tomato varieties) is not permitted. This is because many commercial pestos carry a "May Contain Traces of Nuts" warning due to manufacturing processes.
We appreciate that checking labels takes extra effort, but this policy is essential to protect all the children in our care.
Early Closure on Last Day of Term
As we approach December, we wish to inform you of some adjustments to the last day of term. On the 19th December 2025, our school office will close at 3.30pm. Thank you for your support.
Wrap Around Care will close as normal at by 6:00 PM, please ensure that your child is collected on time as the school will close promptly at that time. If you anticipate any difficulties in collecting your child by 6:00 PM, we kindly ask that you make alternative arrangements for someone to pick them up and notify our club manager, Mrs Watson, of these arrangements via email at mpwac@leoacademytrust.co.uk.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our wrap around manager via the email mentioned above.
As usual on the last day of a full term, Foundation Stage will close early as follows:
Jet Class 2.15pm
Garnet Class 2.15pm
Aqua Class 2.15pm
Blue Moon and Jewels Class 2.30pm
Years 1 to 6 will finish at their USUAL FRIDAY TIMES.
There are no Sibling Clubs due to the early closure and all after school clubs would have finished the previous week.
As the Christmas break approaches, Manor Park and LEO Academy Trust are organising a small Christmas activity for the children during the Universal Breakfast Club!
On Wednesday 10th December, Christmas lunch day, the children will have the opportunity to decorate small Christmas tree decorations. We will, also, provide a Christmas-themed breakfast on this day.
Pantomime - "Cinderella" Comes to Manor Park
This year's Pantomime, "Cinderella" was a huge success. The Pantomime was a wonderful experience and the children had lots of fun and laughter throughout the performance. The Playhouse Productions cast created a fantastic performance getting the children involved; this was a truly enjoyable and festive treat for the children at Manor Park.
The panto was truly amazing and the actors were fabulous. Their performance was entertaining, funny and a complete success in spreading the cheer of Christmas time to all of the children who watched. Thank you to FOMP for this brilliant gift to our children!
We are thrilled to announce that for the upcoming academic year, Manor Park Primary School will be officially supporting The Paul Alan Project as our dedicated school charity. This is a fantastic opportunity for our children to learn about community safety, emergency skills, and the importance of quick action in critical situations.
The Paul Alan Project is a volunteer-run charity with the vital mission of saving lives through emergency preparedness. They are dedicated to preventing cardiac arrest deaths in the UK by focusing on three core areas:
Free Lifesaving Training: They provide FREE basic life support training (including how to perform CPR and confidently use a defibrillator) to individuals and organisations in the community.
Defibrillator Provision: They raise funds to install Public Access Defibrillators (PADs) and Bleed Control Kits in communities, particularly in parks and residential areas where provision is often poor.
Awareness: They raise awareness of the signs of cardiac arrest and the difference a quick response can make.
Our 2025/2026 Fundraising Goal: £2,000 for Manor Park
This money will be used to purchase and install a 24/7 Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) and a Bleed Control Kit in Manor Park. This vital equipment will be accessible to our entire local community, serving as a critical resource in a medical emergency.
How Manor Park Will Get Involved
Throughout the year, we will be holding various exciting events and activities designed to promote awareness and raise money for The Paul Alan Project. Details of these events will be shared with you soon.
How You Can Help Now
We warmly invite our entire school community to support this life-saving cause supporting an upcoming events. If you would like to contribute immediately, you can make a donation via our dedicated charity page:

This Week in Nursery & Reception
Nursery pupils had an exciting week diving into the story of 'Zog'.
In connection with the story, pupils were thrilled to discover some "mysterious dragon eggs".
Pupils demonstrated wonderful creative skills by decorating the dragon eggs and building cosy nests for them.
In Reception, pupils focused on Mathematics this week, learning about 'part-part-whole' models.
Pupils successfully used these models to create and write addition sums up to five.
Finally, Pupils across Nursery and Reception continued to develop their balancing skills and practising movements based on animals in the jungle. All our youngest pupils showed great enthusiasm and effort in their learning across all activities.
This Week in Year 1!
In Mathematics, Year 1 pupils became 'number masters' by thoroughly exploring the composition of numbers 6 to 9, specifically focusing on the structure of 5 plus another number using the rekenrek tool to boost recognition and fluency. The pupils' hard work in Maths enabled them to deepen their understanding of number bonds and rapid recall.
Music sessions saw Year 1 pupils experimenting with various instruments. The pupils successfully created music linked to their theme, "The Magic Musical Aquarium," focusing on water sounds and composing imaginative 'fishy tunes.'
For their Creative Design and English activity, Year 1 pupils were inspired by the book 'Supertato.' The pupils enthusiastically designed and created their own brilliant 'Super Veggies,' showcasing excellent imagination and practical skills.
This Week in Year 2!
This week, our Year 2 pupils performed their wonderful festive production, 'Gnome Alone,' for parents and adults. The performance brought much festive cheer and was enjoyed by everyone who attended.
Thank you to all adults for your support with the costumes for the production and for coming to watch the performance.
As part of developing pupils' physical education and mental health and well being, pupils from across Year 2 happily took part in the Santa Daily Mile Challenge, wearing festive hats and decorations to make it a fun event.
In Art, Year 2 pupils officially completed their in-depth research project on the abstract painter Wassily Kandinsky. The Year 2 pupils demonstrated outstanding research skills, acting as 'research ninjas' to cross-reference sources and ensure the accuracy of their information texts.
This Week in Year 3!
This week, Year 3 pupils participated enthusiastically in the annual 'Santa Dash' event, wearing festive hats and hairbands to celebrate the start of the Christmas season.
In History, pupils in Year 3 learned fascinating facts about Celtic warriors, including their belief that the Gods protected them, which led to them not wearing traditional armour. They also found out that Celtic warriors used blue ink from a plant to make themselves appear more frightening before battle.
In 'Mastering Number', Year 3 pupils continued to explore the concept of commutativity in addition. Pupils focused on how the addends in an addition equation relate, understanding that if one addend increases, the other must decrease to keep the sum the same.
As part of a Science investigation, pupils explored animal profiles and matching paw prints and claw marks where they successfully identified the animal in question as the sabre-toothed cat.
Finally, Year 3 pupils practiced their reading comprehension by acting as detectives and using the '5 Ws' (Who, What, Where, When, Why) to solve a mystery.
This Week in Year 4!
This week, our Year 4 scientists investigated the concept of sound, exploring the differences of loudness and quietness through a range of experiments. Pupils conducted practical experiments using hand clicks and various musical instruments, whilst pupils measured the decibels of each.
In the build up to the festive season, Year 4 successfully completed the festive Santa Dash earlier today. Pupils came dressed in an array of festive hats and boppers before walking, jogging and running the length of the court. The event was a wonderful demonstration of energy, laughter, and seasonal spirit.
The pupils' participation in both activities was outstanding and enthusiastic. We commend all Year 4 pupils for their excellent work and engagement this week.
This Week in Year 5!
As part of their physical education & well being, our Year 5 pupils participated in a successful Daily Mile Santa Dash, promoting physical activity and festive fun. They designed and wore their own Santa hats to mark the occasion.
In Science, concepts of Space and the Solar System were brought to life during an engaging visit from the Science Dome. Pupils explored projections of planets and constellations, enhancing their understanding of complex concepts.
Through their Outdoor Learning, pupils enjoyed time outdoors, taking part in a session of Forest School. The pupils' enthusiasm and participation contributed to a very enjoyable and successful week of learning.
Finally, pupils across Year 5 have been practising their singing skills ahead of next week's Carol Concert and they all look forward to you coming along to watch next Tuesday.
This Week in Year 6!
Our Year 6 pupils displayed fantastic focus and teamwork during their Physical Education (PE) lessons, successfully refining their coordination skills through partner work. We also celebrated the outstanding achievement of Alesha in Year 6, who was the runner-up in the highly competitive Sutton Under 13's Badminton Tournament held over the weekend.
This week, the whole of Year 6 took part in the exciting 'The Daily Mile Santa Dash' event. Pupils showed tremendous effort and festive spirit by running with enthusiasm and energy during the Santa Dash.
Throughout all their learning activities this week, pupils successfully demonstrated collaboration and supportive behaviour amongst all participants. We are incredibly proud of the dedication shown by our pupils in both their PE lessons and external sporting competitions.
