Autism Acceptance Day
On Wednesday 2nd April 2025, our school will be celebrating Autism Acceptance Day. This is a day dedicated to increasing understanding and acceptance of autistic people.
This year's theme is colour, a vibrant representation of the diversity within the autistic community. To join in the celebration, we invite all children to wear their normal school uniform and add a colourful accessory. This could be a colourful scarf, hat, socks, hair accessory, or anything else that brings a splash of colour to their day.
We believe that celebrating diversity is vital in fostering an inclusive and supportive school environment. We look forward to seeing the wonderful array of colours our children bring to school on this special day.
Many thanks for your continued support.
Year 4 Musical Extravaganza
Year 4 will be holding their Musical Extravaganza Performances at 9:10 am on Wednesday 2nd April and at 2:00 pm on Thursday 3rd April. As well as two live performances, we will also be recording the Musical Extravaganza. The recording will be shared via a URL link with parents/carers of Year 4 children only. It is expected that this video is not circulated more widely than the family, and that the video is not uploaded onto any form of social media. Our advice is that any manipulation or distribution of images of children could result in prosecution under data protection laws and regulations.
As with all of our assemblies and performances, we politely ask parents/carers arrive promptly to prevent disruption to the children’s presentation. When photographing your children in school performances, events and productions, please use small cameras only to ensure that you are not interfering with the view of other parents. Also, when posting photographs of school events on social media e.g. Facebook, please ensure that you are only posting pictures of your child. Parental consent has not been obtained for you to include photographs of other children who may be present in your pictures.
LEO Academy Parent Experience Survey
Please find our annual Parent Survey, designed to gather your valuable feedback on various aspects of our school.
We encourage you to take a few moments to complete the survey, which can be accessed here.
Surveys are completely anonymous and confidential, though the responses will be aggregated for the purpose of analysis.
Please note that the survey needs to be completed in one sitting.
The survey will be available until Friday 28th March and should take no more than 15 minutes to complete.
Thank you for your ongoing support and for working with us to create a thriving learning environment for all of our students.
No Smoking Policy Reminder
A friendly reminder to all our parents and carers at Manor Park, that our school grounds are strictly smoke and vape-free zones: this includes any tobacco-based smoking product and any electronic smoking device. This policy ensures a healthy environment for all our children, staff and adults. We appreciate your cooperation in refraining from smoking or using electronic smoking devices anywhere on the premises including the entrance to the school, playground and car park areas. Your commitment to this policy supports the well-being of our school community.
As you know, all children from Reception through to Year 6 qualify for universal free school meals, i.e. free of charge, however, please note that you will not automatically qualify for the benefit related 'Free School Meals' ('FSM') entitlement/Pupil Premium Funding - please see below:
'Pupil Premium' funding is extra funding for schools to spend on enrichment activities, teacher development, targeted support for the children who need it most, as well as free school trips, workshops, food vouchers during the holidays etc. The school can also claim additional funding for children with a parent/carer in the Armed Forces, or in receipt of a child pension from the Ministry of Defence.
Therefore, all families from Nursery through to Year 6 should apply (if you think you may be eligible), even if your child is in Nursery and is not taking a school meal at lunchtime.
Please see the information leaflet attached, which provides full details and how to apply. Should you have any queries or problems applying, the school office can apply on your behalf. If you would like the school office to do this for you, please email the school office and provide the following information:

Year 1 Taxi Triumph
Year 1 pupils embarked on a wonderful design and technology project, constructing their very own taxis this week. They diligently learned the crucial role of the axle and chassis in vehicle construction. The pupils demonstrated excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills throughout the process. Creative flair was evident as they enthusiastically decorated their taxis, adding unique personal touches. It was a thoroughly enjoyable and educational experience for all involved. The children should be very proud of their achievements.
Springtime Celebrations in Early Years
Our Nursery and Reception pupils thoroughly enjoyed their Spring-themed learning activities with the children thrilled to welcome their adults into the classroom to share in the fun. From a wobbly, colourful jelly party to the delicate creation of flower hand prints, the pupils immersed themselves in the joys of the season. Each activity was designed to spark imagination and foster a sense of shared experience. The smiles and engagement witnessed were a testament to the success of the morning. It was a superb example of collaborative learning and springtime cheer.
Underwater Wonders in Year 6!
This week, Year 6 pupils embarked on a truly remarkable project, transforming recycled materials into a vibrant coral reef. From bottle caps to cardboard, pupils had fun crafting intricate coral formations. They carefully painted and assembled their creations, bringing the ocean's beauty to life within the school walls. The project not only showcased their artistic talents but also deepened their understanding of sustainability. Pupils learned firsthand how everyday items can be repurposed, contributing to a healthier planet. The final display was a testament to their hard work and collaborative spirit, a magnificent underwater world built from imagination and recycled resources.
Year 3's Enriching Synagogue Visit!
This week, Year 3 pupils embarked on a truly memorable visit to Sutton Synagogue. The trip served to beautifully complement their recent Religious Education lessons concerning the Jewish faith. The pupils engaged respectfully with the synagogue's unique architecture and artifacts. They listened attentively as they learned about important Jewish traditions and customs. The visit provided a tangible and immersive experience that brought their classroom learning to life. The pupils returned to school with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the Jewish community. It was a truly enriching day for all involved.
Football Skills Shine at Palace!
This week, a select group of pupils represented our school at the Palace For Life football festival. The pupils engaged enthusiastically in a variety of skill-based stations, demonstrating their developing football abilities. They worked incredibly hard on passing, dribbling, and shooting techniques. All pupils showed excellent sportsmanship and a real passion for the game. We are incredibly proud of their effort and participation. Well done to each and every one involved!
Panathlon Triumph for Year 1 & Year 2!
This week, a small group of enthusiastic Year 1 and 2 pupils participated in the Sutton Sports Partnership (SSP) Panathlon event. They engaged in a variety of fun and challenging sporting stations, demonstrating excellent teamwork and determination. The pupils showcased their skills and sportsmanship throughout the day. They represented our school admirably, and we were incredibly proud of their efforts. After a day of spirited competition, the pupils achieved a fantastic third place. Well done to all the pupils who took part! It was a brilliant achievement.
