Manor Park FOMP Summer Fair a Roaring Success!
Last week, our annual Summer Fair was a huge success! We were thrilled to welcome the entire school community for a day packed with fun activities for all ages. A huge thank you goes to the Friends of Manor Park (FOMP) for all their hard work in organising such a fantastic event.
Thanks to FOMP's incredible planning and the commitment of all our parents, we are delighted to announce a staggering £6,342 was raised!
From all of us here at the Academy, a heartfelt thank you to FOMP for making our Summer Fair such a resounding success!
School Notices and Reminders
Express and Share Assemblies for Years 5
Year 5 - Thursday 3rd July 2025 at 9:15 am and at 2:00 pm
Parents/Adults are invited to come back to the classrooms after the assembly, to support the children with their learning.
Siblings are welcome to attend the assembly but unfortunately will not be able to go into the classrooms due to the lack of space.
As with all of our assemblies and performances, we politely ask parents/carers arrive promptly to prevent disruption to the children’s presentation.
When photographing your children in school performances, events and productions, please use small cameras only to ensure that you are not interfering with the view of other parents. Also, when posting photographs of school events on social media e.g. Facebook, please ensure that you are only posting pictures of your child. Parental consent has not been obtained for you to include photographs of other children who may be present in your pictures.
Year 6 Induction Days for High School
If your child has their High School Induction days (Wednesday, 2nd July is one of the main dates for this) please report their absence via the school website - reporting absence link stating "Induction day" as their reason for absence.
This will ensure that they get the correct attendance mark for the day.
Meet the Teacher After School!
Monday 07th July 2025 - 3:45 pm - 6:30 pm
We invite all current Nursery to Year 5 parents and carers are invited to visit your child's new classroom.
Please use this opportunity to introduce your self and say 'hello'.
Information regarding your child's new class teacher will follow next week.
Year 6 performances: Wednesday 09th July at 2 pm and Thursday 10th July at 7 pm.
Tickets have now been allocated for both performances.
Please note that this production is unsuitable for children younger than Year 3 (8 years old) due to its length. Please make alternative arrangements for them, as you will not be able to come in if you have a child with you who is younger than Year 3 (8 years old).

School Trips and Workshops Reminders
If your child is in Year 5 and going to PGL next term please make sure that all payments have been made as the deadline is next Monday 30th June.
All school trips and workshops rely on the contributions of parents in order for the trips and/or workshops to go ahead and unfortunately these may be cancelled if we do not receive payments.
We still have a number of overdue payments for past trips and workshops for this academic year. Please may we request that payments be made as soon as possible via Arbor or cash, in a named envelope, to the school office.
If you are having any difficulties making the payments, please contact the school office to discuss this further. Thank you so much for your support.
Parking Safely Around the School Entrances
Parking is strictly prohibited outside the school gates.
Our children's safety is at risk by anyone who stops on the zigzag lines or on the corner of Warwick and Greyhound Road.
Furthermore, we ask that you do not park in residents' bays or park across driveways. These are clearly marked and reserved for local residents.
Finally, we kindly request that you do not leave your engine running while waiting.

EYFS - Nursery and Reception!
Reception's 'Beach Day' was full of fun, with plenty of water-based activities, sandcastle building and eating ice-creams courtesy of our Ice Cream van!
Children in Nursery have embraced 'Math's Week' by exploring making repeated patterns and sequences having fun sharing their learning.
After reading about sea animals, Reception pupils enjoyed using their artistic creativity and household objects to create their own sea-based creatures.
As part of Diversity week, Reception pupils designed amazing collages of what they like - highlighting their individuality alongside common interests, before cutting out friendship dolls.
Nursery have been practicing using money in their role play cafe this week, learning how to pay and give change.
Year 1
As part of 'LGBTQ+ Diversity and Inclusion' Week, Year 1 pupils considered how we are all different and what makes us special. They explored different family types, understanding that being loved is the most important, before creating a beautiful poster of their own loved ones and sharing with the class.
Year 1 have been learning all about famous historical buildings such as 'The Alhambra' and 'The Taj Mahal' as part of 'Math's Week' this year! We looked at the intricate geometric patterns in the architecture and then recreated our own versions!
Throughout the week, pupils have enjoyed their first maths lesson exploring the value of money. They have been learning the value of our British currency and what each coin represents. they have been been counting each value in 2's, 5's and 10's!
Year 1 have enjoyed the Olympic Daily Mile this week! Outside, the children were active, considering our Olympic values such as friendship, excellence, and respect for all!
Year 2
Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed 'Maths Week' where they explored finding shapes in iconic buildings before designing their own repeated patterns.
As part of 'LGBTQ+ Diversity and Inclusion' Week, pupils explored the story of 'Elmer' and had a wonderful discussion about what makes us unique and all the special qualities we all possess. The children then wrote about what makes them special and unique.
It has been fantastic to see our Year 2 children deepening their understanding of turns (quarter, half, three-quarter, full!) using an interactive ICT maths game today. A super productive way to celebrate 'Math's Week'!
Earlier this week, Coral Class enjoyed their session at the LEO Cheam Field's pool, developing their diving, swimming and underwater skills.
Year 3
Year 3 pupils have been on a mathematical 'Treasure Hunt' as part of 'Math's Week', solving a variety of challenges based on mathematical clues, before piecing them together to identify the name of a famous mathematician. They have also been exploring the importance and significance of Albert Einstein. Well done to all!
In History, as part of their topic on Ancient Rome, pupils have been learning why the Roman's withdrew from Britain, developing their historical knowledge.
In DT, in order to make the bases of their greenhouses, pupils have been learning how to use a saw safely and a glue gun to assemble their creation.
Year 4
This week, several of our Year 4 pupils had the wonderful opportunity to perform at Fairfield Halls, Croydon, alongside many of our LEO schools, performing a variety of memorable tunes using their brass instruments. After many weeks of practice, pupils performed beautiful and proudly.
Year 4 celebrated 'Math's Week' by engaging in a series of various math related problems. They enjoyed using their problem solving skills in solving a variety of puzzles and challenges.
Year 5
As part of 'Maths Week', Year 5 pupils enjoyed learning about the importance of numbers, before creating their own number systems, inspired by the Ancient Greeks. Fun was had by all as they applied their mathematical knowledge throughout the week.
Year 5 have been completing their Olympic daily miles this week, and several children have achieved awards for their motivated and supportive attitudes during these sessions.
Year 6
Year 6 designed an array of mathematical posters, each showcasing a different area of their mathematical learning. The aim was to teach younger pupils skills regarding number systems, place value and mathematical concepts in a child-friendly way!
Year 6 have been refining their observational drawing skills, using an array of stencils to bring animals and insects to life. They enjoyed applying meticulous focus to ensure every details was captured before finishing off with a splash of watercolours to bring them to life!
Year 6 have been exploring the fascinating world of fossils this week! After learning how they are formed, they got hands‑on and created their very own fossils using salt dough. Science brought to life!

LEO Academy Trust is incredibly proud to work in partnership with the National Institute of Teaching as an Associate College to deliver Initial Teacher Training, (ITT) Early Career Framework (ECF) and National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) from September 2025.
Applications for our primary ITT courses are now open for September 2025! Our initial teacher training is a fully immersive school-centred programme - aspiring teachers will be in the classroom from the very start, supported by our in-house mentors and provided central training once a week.

Exciting Family Fun Day at West Ashtead Primary Academy
Our friends at West Ashtead Primary Academy are hosting a special event on Sunday, June 29th, featuring Happy's Circus and their annual Summer Fair.
Happy's Circus will be performing under the Big Top, with doors opening at 1:30 PM. Please note that pre-sale tickets only will be available for the circus, so be sure to get yours in advance!
On the very same day, West Ashtead Primary will be holding their much-loved Summer Fair! Entry to the fair is completely free, and there will be something for everyone. Expect a wide array of games, a delicious BBQ, freshly made pizza, a refreshing bar, yummy ice cream, and much, much more!
