Friends of Manor Park Summer Fair - Saturday 21st June - Tomorrow
Volunteers Needed for Our Fantastic Summer Fair!
The summer term is in full swing, and we're all eagerly anticipating our annual Summer Fair tomorrow, Saturday, June 21st! This much-loved event is always a highlight of our school year, bringing our community together for a day of fun, games, and celebration. More importantly, it's a vital fundraiser for our school, with all proceeds directly benefiting our children through new resources, enriching experiences, and enhancements to their learning environment.
To make the fair a resounding success, we rely heavily on the incredible support of our parents. Running the various exciting stalls – from tombolas to games and refreshments – is a collaborative effort between our dedicated FOMP (Friends of Manor Park Primary) committee, school staff, and, crucially, our parent volunteers. Your time and energy are truly invaluable in ensuring the smooth running of the day and maximizing the funds we can raise for the school.
We understand how busy everyone is, but please know that even an hour of your time can make a significant difference. If you are able to spare some time to help run a stall, assist with setting up, or lend a hand with packing away, we would be incredibly grateful. Your child's class will be setting up, decorating, and championing a specific stall, so please let us know if you would like to support a particular one.
To sign up or if you have any questions, please contact Naz, our wonderful FOMP Chair. You can reach her via email at ptafriendsofmanorpark@gmail.com or by mobile on 07951871481.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support in making this year's Summer Fair a fantastic and fruitful day for our children.

The Paul Alan Project
Our Year 6 pupils participated in a truly vital and empowering workshop led by 'The Paul Alan Project'. This invaluable session, provided free of charge to our school, equipped our students with essential basic life support skills, from understanding cardiac arrest to performing CPR and using a defibrillator – knowledge that could genuinely make a difference in an emergency.
'The Paul Alan Project' is a remarkable charity, and their ability to continue providing these life-saving workshops and essential equipment relies entirely on voluntary contributions. Every donation they receive directly contributes to providing 24/7 accessible defibrillators and bleed control kits in local communities, directly helping to save lives.
We understand that everyone's circumstances are different, but for those who feel moved to contribute to such a crucial cause, 'The Paul Alan Project' would be immensely grateful for any support you might consider. Every little bit truly helps them continue their life-saving mission and bring these vital skills to more individuals. If you would like to donate to the charity, please do so here.
A Week of Sporting triumph and Inspiration!
This week, our school was abuzz with energy and enthusiasm as we celebrated Sports Week across all year groups in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. It was a truly memorable occasion, culminating in an incredibly inspiring circuit training session with the remarkable GB Gymnast, Saffron Severn. Our pupils worked incredibly hard throughout their circuits, demonstrating excellent perseverance and thoroughly enjoying every moment. We extend our sincere gratitude to Saffron for sharing her inspiring story with us! It was wonderful to witness such genuine enjoyment for sport.
In addition, there are still some fantastic prizes on offer for any sponsorship money raised: a sheet of stickers for any amount, a blue wristband for £5, a signed wristband for £15, and a signed poster for £35. We eagerly anticipate celebrating the achievements of all our pupils who participated so wholeheartedly.

Their positive attitudes and sportsmanship were exemplary, making the event a truly memorable one for everyone involved. The dedication and effort displayed by all the Year 6 pupils were commendable, and they should be incredibly proud of their achievements. We extend our sincere thanks to all the staff and volunteers who helped to organise and run such an engaging and successful morning.
Year 6 'Worry Ninja' Success!
Year 6 pupils participated in the highly anticipated Worry Ninja workshop, which provided them with invaluable practical tools designed to help manage any anxieties or stress they might have regarding their upcoming transition to secondary school. Through a series of interactive activities and discussions, the pupils explored various techniques aimed at building confidence and delveoping resilience. The positive feedback from the pupils highlighted their appreciation for learning effective strategies to calm themselves down when experiencing feelings of worry.
Year 6 'Worry Ninja' Success!
During the week, our Year 2 pupils participated in a truly fantastic Design and Technology lesson where they examined a variety of products, demonstrating keen observational skills. Pupils were actively engaged in identifying and discussing the different stitching techniques. The lesson provided a wonderful opportunity for them to appreciate the intricate details involved in product design. We are confident that we have some future designers in the making amongst our talented Year 2 cohort. The pupils' engagement and the insights gained made it a highly valuable and memorable learning experience for everyone involved.
Year 4 Pupils Excel with LEGO Robotics!
This week, our Year 4 pupils demonstrated excellent computing and technological skills with the use of LEGO robotics. Through this interactive process, pupils were able to experiment with various conditions and observe how their conditional loops dictated the actions of their robots. The session was not only incredibly fun but also highly educational, providing our Year 4 pupils with a solid foundation in computational thinking and an inspiring glimpse into the world of robotics. Their ability to grasp such complex concepts and produce such amazing outcomes at this age is truly commendable.
