School Notices and Reminders
Year 6 - SAT's Tests - Monday 12th May - Thursday 17th May
As you are all no doubt aware, KS2 SAT's week is next week - the week commencing Monday 12th May. We are incredibly proud of how hard all our pupils have worked in the build-up for the tests. They are certainly well-prepared, ready and should feel very confident. Please encourage them to rest, relax and have fun this weekend.
Next week, please ensure your child arrives at school on time.
Absence: If for any reason, your child is sick during this week, you MUST complete the absence form or email the office office@manorpark.sutton.sch.uk as soon as possible and no later than 8.30 am so that the office and teachers can make new arrangements for your child to sit these tests.
During SAT's week, the children can bring a piece of fruit or a healthy snack for break time and a water bottle to keep them hydrated during the tests themselves.
In addition, we will be running our breakfast club for Year 6 pupils from 7.45 am, Monday to Thursday, for a donation of £5.00 for the week. Most Year 6 children have signed up for the Breakfast Club. Please encourage your child to do so if they are undecided as this will give them a very positive start to their day.
Please encourage your child to;
Get a good night’s sleep.
Make sure they arrive in school on time.
Remember to bring a water bottle into school.
Bring a piece of fruit for a mid-morning snack.
Above all, relax, don’t worry and do their best.
Early Morning Clubs - Changes to Year 6 Due to SATs
For next week only, commencing 12th May, early morning clubs for Year 6 will not be running due to SAT's.
Clubs for Year 6 will return to normal the following week, commencing 19th May.
During SATs week, the Year 6 team will be hosting a SAT's breakfast club for pupils who have signed up previously. This will be running from Monday to Thursday from 7:45 am, where Year 6 pupils will have the chance to have breakfast from a range of options, relax and prepare themselves for the day ahead. If you have not signed your child up to the SATs breakfast, please speak to a member of the office Staff.
If your child attends an early morning club and is not in Year 6, then all clubs will run as usual.

Uniform Donation Request
As the seasons turn and our children continue to grow, we often find ourselves with outgrown school uniform items that are still in good condition. Instead of these perfectly usable clothes gathering dust in wardrobes, we have a wonderful opportunity to give them a new lease of life and support our school community!
We are requesting school uniform donations here at Manor Park Primary and would be incredibly grateful for any contributions of clean, good-quality uniform items your children may have outgrown.
What Items Are We Looking For?
We welcome donations of all items of our school uniform, including:
Jumpers and cardigans
Trousers and skirts
Polo shirts
Summer dresses
PE kit items (t-shirts, shorts, tracksuits)
School shoes (in good, wearable condition)
How Can You Help?
Donating is easy! Please ensure all items are clean and in good, wearable condition (no rips, significant stains, or missing buttons, please). You can drop off your donations at the school office between Monday 12th May and Friday 20th June.
Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference to our school community. Thank you in advance for your support in helping all our students look smart and feel confident!
VE Celebrations - A Week of Wonderful Learning and Remembrance
Our children embraced history this week, with a memorable celebration of VE Day across the school. Pupils in all year groups engaged in activities to understand the significance of this important day from an informative assembly to an array of class based activities. In Year 1 and Year 2, pupils enjoyed a captivating lesson centered around the true story of 'The Bear Who Went to War' and subsequently designed their own war medals. Becoming young historians, Year 3 and Year 4 learned about VE Day and then took part in a variety of activities to build on their learning, including partaking in an outdoors VE PE game! Finally, Year 5 and Year 6 immersed themselves in a special assembly and lesson, thoughtfully exploring and documenting the reasons we continue to celebrate VE Day through an informative poster. We thank all our pupils for commemorating VE day thoughtfully and respectfully!
Reptile Workshops Visits Reception Classes!
Our Reception children embarked on an unforgettable adventure earlier this week, bravely encountering a fascinating array of creatures during their reptile workshop. Gasps of awe and wonder filled the air as pupils met a tarantula, scorpion, bearded lizard, and a snake up close. The children demonstrated incredible courage and curiosity as they learned about these amazing animals. This hands-on experience provided a truly fantastic and memorable learning opportunity for our youngest members. We were so proud to witness their enthusiasm and engagement throughout the session.
Key Stage 1's Inspiring Ambulance Visit!
Our Key Stage 1 pupils had a fantastic opportunity to meet a dedicated paramedic from the London Ambulance Service this week. The children listened attentively as the paramedic expertly explained their crucial role in our community and how they provide help. Our little ones gained invaluable knowledge about staying safe and understanding who to contact during an emergency. The paramedic's engaging presentation truly brought this important topic to life for our young learners and undoubtedly broadened our pupils' understanding of emergency services. We are so grateful for the paramedic's time and effort in making this a truly enriching learning opportunity for our children.
Sporting Success on the Pitch!
This week, our Key Stage 2 pupils demonstrated fantastic teamwork and sportsmanship at the LEO Sports football competition. A number of girls proudly represented our school, showcasing their growing football skills on the field. Throughout the afternoon, the children displayed remarkable resilience, never giving up despite the challenges. It was wonderful to witness their improvement with each game they played. The girls’ positive attitudes and determination truly shone through. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and the way they represented our school.
Friends of Manor Park Summer Fair - Saturday 21st June
The Manor Park annual Summer Fair is a huge event in the school calendar and over the years, FOMP has raised money, which has been spent on events and equipment that have benefited all our children. Supported by parents and staff, our fairs have always been a great family afternoon out and the children have a wonderful time.
