School Notices and Reminders
To help stock one of our most popular attractions, the bottle tombola, FOMP is organizing a Mufti Day next Tuesday 10th June. Your child will have the opportunity to come to school in their own clothes in exchange for one or two bottles for our tombola.
While the donation is entirely optional, and your child will enjoy the mufti day regardless of whether you choose to donate, we genuinely appreciate all contributions as the bottle tombola is always a huge hit at the fair!
Just a reminder to all parents and adults, that footballs tops are not permitted during mufti-days.
Athlete Visit Manor Park
As part of the National School Sports Week activities, we are very excited to be welcoming top athlete, Saffron Severn to the school on Wednesday 18th June 2025. Saffron is a Commonwealth Rhythmic Gymnast whose dedication catapulted her to the summit of success, earning her the title of Junior Rhythmic Gymnastics Champion for Great Britain in 2019. You will receive a sponsorship form for your child to use in order to help raise money for the event. You can also sponsor your child online by clicking here. This will direct you to the Great Athletes fundraising page, where you can search for our school and set up a page for your child.
Request for Returned and Donated PE Kits
We are reaching out with a friendly request regarding our school's PE kits. Over the past few weeks, children have kindly borrowed school PE kits when they have forgotten their own. We would be very grateful if you could check at home and return any borrowed PE kits to the school office as soon as possible. Having these kits back helps ensure we have enough on hand for all pupils who may need them.
In addition to this, we understand that children grow quickly! If you happen to have any spare PE kits at home that your children have outgrown, we would be incredibly thankful for your donation. These donations are a tremendous help to the school, allowing us to support other students who may need a kit. Please drop off any donated PE kits at the school office.
Your support in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Uniform Donation Request
As the seasons turn and our children continue to grow, we often find ourselves with outgrown school uniform items that are still in good condition. Instead of these perfectly usable clothes gathering dust in wardrobes, we have a wonderful opportunity to give them a new lease of life and support our school community!
We are requesting school uniform donations here at Manor Park Primary and would be incredibly grateful for any contributions of clean, good-quality uniform items your children may have outgrown.
What Items Are We Looking For?
We welcome donations of all items of our school uniform, including:
Jumpers and cardigans
Trousers and skirts
Polo shirts
Summer dresses
PE kit items (t-shirts, shorts, tracksuits)
School shoes (in good, wearable condition)
How Can You Help?
Donating is easy! Please ensure all items are clean and in good, wearable condition (no rips, significant stains, or missing buttons, please). You can drop off your donations at the school office between Monday 12th May and Friday 20th June.
Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference to our school community. Thank you in advance for your support in helping all our students look smart and feel confident!
Year 4 High Ashurst
This is a reminder for Year 4 parents regarding arrangements for Friday, June 13th.
On this day, as your children will be returning from their trip to High Ashurst, there will be no after-school clubs available for Year 4 students. Therefore, please ensure you collect your children promptly at 2:30 PM from Manor Park.
If your child is registered for Wrap Around Care on June 13th, please contact Wrap Around Care directly to confirm their attendance and make any necessary arrangements.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
A Resounding Success at Our Annual Sports Day!
This week, our pupils from Reception to Year 5 participated in their annual Summer Sports Day, which proved to be a resounding success. They truly shone in events such as the 35m sprint, demonstrated great enthusiasm in the sack races, showcased impressive skills in football dribbling, and meticulously balanced in the egg and spoon races, alongside many other engaging activities. The children displayed incredible teamwork, unwavering determination, and remarkable resilience throughout the day. We are immensely proud of each and every one of their efforts and achievements.
Unfortunately, due to adverse weather conditions, Year 6's sports morning was unable to take place and has been rescheduled to Tuesday 17th June at 09:30 am. A letter will be sent to all adults in due course.
Year 6's Immersive Brooklands Experience
Earlier this week, our Year 6 pupils embarked on a remarkable trip to Brooklands Museum, where they delved into their "Britain at War" topic. They had an amazing time exploring the museum's incredible collection, gaining invaluable insights into the United Kingdom's pivotal role in various conflicts. The pupils were particularly captivated by the diverse range of planes on display, which brought their classroom learning to life. This fantastic and educational excursion provided a rich, immersive experience, significantly deepening their understanding of this important historical period. We are incredibly proud of their engagement and the significant learning that took place.
Year 5's Grecian Adventure at the British Museum!
This week, our Year 5 pupils embarked on a truly enriching visit to the British Museum, an experience that brought ancient history vividly to life. They thoroughly enjoyed observing and sketching the diverse array of artefacts, gaining a deeper appreciation for the past. Our pupils had a fantastic time exploring the wonders of Ancient Greece, from intricate pottery to fascinating depictions of gods and myths. It was evident that history truly came alive for them as they navigated the museum's impressive collections. The trip was an amazing success, and the pupils returned filled with new knowledge and inspiration. We are incredibly proud of their engagement and enthusiasm throughout the visit.
Culinary Creations in Year One!
This week, Year One pupils embarked on a delightful culinary adventure during their ‘Chop, Slice and Mash’ topic as part of Engage Week. They thoroughly enjoyed the process of designing their own unique sandwiches, demonstrating impressive creativity.
Following the design phase, pupils meticulously practised making their chosen sandwiches, bringing their innovative ideas to delicious reality. This hands-on experience allowed them to develop practical skills in a fun and engaging environment.
The highlight for many was undoubtedly the opportunity to then savour their own handmade creations. It was truly a fantastic and memorable learning experience for all involved.
Celebrating Our Youngest Volunteers!
We extend our warmest congratulations to Karina from Sapphire class, who was deservedly awarded the prestigious Young Sports Club Volunteer of the Year award earlier this week.
Karina was recognised for her outstanding contributions to her Judo club, where she dedicates her time to supporting younger pupils in developing their techniques. Her commitment to youth volunteering is truly commendable. The award also acknowledged Karina's consistently positive attitude and her inspiring presence within the club.
We are incredibly proud of Karina's achievements, which reflect the values of our school community. She serves as an excellent role model for all our pupils.
Year 3 Weaving Wonders!
This week, an incredible wave of creativity swept through all our Year 3 classes as pupils delved into the fascinating world of weaving. They meticulously crafted their own card looms and skilfully set up the warp threads, demonstrating remarkable precision.
The true magic unfolded as pupils then wove in an array of natural treasures, incorporating leaves and flowers to create unique patterns and textures. The focus and engagement observed in every classroom were truly commendable. We are immensely proud of the stunning results.
These vibrant woven pieces are a testament to their hard work and imagination.
Year 6 Becomes Life Savers!
Earlier this week, our Year 6 pupils participated in an incredibly important training session. They learned how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and how to effectively use a defibrillator. This vital training has equipped them with the knowledge and skills that could enable them to save lives in the future. We extend a huge thank you to the 'Paul Alan Project' for providing our pupils with this truly invaluable and empowering experience. The dedication of their team ensured that the training was both engaging and informative. We are incredibly proud of our Year 6 pupils for their enthusiastic participation and their commitment to learning such crucial life-saving techniques.
Friends of Manor Park Summer Fair - Saturday 21st June
Volunteers Needed for Our Fantastic Summer Fair!
The summer term is in full swing, and we're all eagerly anticipating our annual Summer Fair on Saturday, June 21st! This much-loved event is always a highlight of our school year, bringing our community together for a day of fun, games, and celebration. More importantly, it's a vital fundraiser for our school, with all proceeds directly benefiting our children through new resources, enriching experiences, and enhancements to their learning environment.
To make the fair a resounding success, we rely heavily on the incredible support of our parents. Running the various exciting stalls – from tombolas to games and refreshments – is a collaborative effort between our dedicated FOMP (Friends of Manor Park Primary) committee, school staff, and, crucially, our parent volunteers. Your time and energy are truly invaluable in ensuring the smooth running of the day and maximizing the funds we can raise for the school.
We understand how busy everyone is, but please know that even an hour of your time can make a significant difference. If you are able to spare some time to help run a stall, assist with setting up, or lend a hand with packing away, we would be incredibly grateful. Your child's class will be setting up, decorating, and championing a specific stall, so please let us know if you would like to support a particular one.
To sign up or if you have any questions, please contact Naz, our wonderful FOMP Chair. You can reach her via email at ptafriendsofmanorpark@gmail.com or by mobile on 07951871481.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support in making this year's Summer Fair a fantastic and fruitful day for our children.

We are pleased to announce that we are opening applications for our Endangered Instrument Scholarship for another year.
These 2-year scholarships will provide pupils with the opportunity to start to learn an ensemble instrument that they may not otherwise have the chance to learn. What does the 2-year scholarship include?
• Free instrument hire.
• Free small group lessons on Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday Music Academy (Pending class availability. Registration fee of £3.25 and £10 annual parental contribution applies.)
• Free Theory and Aural Classes.
• Free SMT Ensemble membership, with the expectation of compulsory attendance and progression through the appropriate ensembles.
