Manor Park Primary Academy School has a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. This responsibility necessitates a child protection policy and procedures which are available to view on the website, or a copy can be requested from the School Office. Our designated Child Protection Officers are Ms. Thomas and Ms. Laing. Information may need to be shared with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. Manor Park Primary Academy is committed to gender, racial, religion and disability equality in every part of school life.

Contact with your Child's Class Teacher
Due to the large number of emails coming into the office, we would ask that if you have a question or concern about your child, please talk to their teacher at home-time in the playground. If a longer meeting is required, please arrange a telephone appointment with the class teacher via the school office, indicating the reason for your request so that the teacher is prepared and able to deal with your concerns.
If your child is unwell and will not be coming to school, please inform the office by 9.30am via the School Website Reporting Absence Link. If you are unsure whether your child needs to be at home, for example after the initial symptoms of illness have eased, please bring them to the school office and we will be happy to monitor them and call you if necessary. We often find that being in school and seeing their friends takes their mind off feeling a little under the weather.
Please try to make dental and GP appointments after school where possible to minimise gaps in your child's learning. We require a copy of letters for hospital appointments, visits to embassies or passport offices, and high school entrance exams to enable us to authorise these appointments . We can photocopy the original documents, if necessary.
Social Media Guidelines
Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter etc. should not be used for any school related comments and the complaints and concerns procedures should be followed. If you wish to share, confidentially, parents who are using sites inappropriately, please let us know and we a will be happy to speak to them. All contact between staff and parents should be conducted with politeness whether this is in meetings or on social media. The following guidelines should be followed:
Parents should use social networking sites or messaging groups sites only as a forum to support one another and uphold the strong reputation of the school.
Parents should not post pictures of pupils, other than their own children, on social networking sites.
Parents should not post inappropriate comments about the school and its staff, parents or individual children on social networking sites or messaging groups.
Parents should share complaints or concerns through official school channels rather than posting them on social networking sites or messaging groups.
Many thanks for your continued support.
Parking Safely Around the School Entrances
Parking is strictly prohibited outside the school gates.
Our children's safety is at risk by anyone who stops on the zigzag lines or on the corner of Warwick and Greyhound Road.
Furthermore, we ask that you do not park in residents' bays or park across driveways. These are clearly marked and reserved for local residents.
Finally, we kindly request that you do not leave your engine running while waiting.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
May we please remind you of the following safety rules which must be followed within the school grounds before and after school:
No scooters or cycles to be ridden around the playgrounds.
No using any of the equipment/apparatus (e.g. the climbing frame) in the playgrounds including Foundation Unit.
Children should remain with their parents and carers at all times until they come into the buildings in the morning or whilst they wait for siblings after school.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Health and Safety Notice-No Nuts in School
Some of our children have severe nut allergies which can be life threatening. Please make sure that your child does not bring nuts into school. No peanut butter or Nutella sandwiches, snack bars or biscuits containing nuts and no small boxes of nuts please.
May we please remind you that children should bring all their equipment into school with them in the morning. PE kits should be in school permanently until they are taken home at half term for washing. Charged Chromebooks should be brought in every day for learning. Pencil cases and other stationery are not required as these are provided by the school. Swimming kits must be brought in on the allocated swim day and a child should always bring their lunch box and water bottle into school as it helps them to remember if they having a packed lunch or a school dinner on that day. As Autumn, and subsequently Winter, approaches the children should always have a coat with them.
Thank you for your co-operation. This will ensure that all children are well prepared for their day and limits the disruption to learning when things come in late and have to be taken to the class.
